#295 - Craft Roulette Challenge - Santa Faces by Simon Says Stamp

Hello!  Happy Sunday!  Today I have a card for the current Craft Roulette Challenge - #295.  I was excited to come across my Simon Says Stamp Santa Faces Embossing Folder and Cutting Dies while I was looking for goodies to hit the parameters..  I have been wanting to play with this set for awhile, so this afternoon was the perfect time.

This weeks parameters are:

  • Project: Map Fold Card
  • Colors: Planter
  • Element: From The Sky
  • Random: Three In A Row

This was the first time I have colored an embossed piece of cardstock with Copic markers and I have to say it was a little bit tricky.  The embossing folder breaks down the fibers in the cardstock, so the ink really absorb easily so it is hard to control the bleed.  I definitely stayed up on the tip of my marker.

The Copic colors that I used for this project are:

  • E0000, E000, E00, E01, R20, R32
  • C00, C0, C1
  • R24, R29, R39
For the sentiment, I used the new Christmas Cheer Words die from Hello Bluebird.  The patterned paper, which is really hard to see, but it beautiful is called Whispers of Winter by Crafty Stamp Co.

One of the things that I love about participating in the weekly Craft Roulette Challenge is that it really make me shop my stash and use the things that I may not have used yet.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you are having a lovely holiday season.

Christmas Tree Farm by Hello Bluebird

Hello and Happy Holidays!!!  I just received my Hello Bluebird order yesterday and couldn't wait to play with it.  The Christmas Tree Farm Stamp Set has so many cute little forest friends!  I was reminded of a Christmas tree lot down the road from me, and thought that I could use the cider/cocoa stand from their Cocoa Stand Stamp Set from their fall release.  I was able to strategically place a few images in front of the sign on the stamp turn it into a tree selling stand.  Since I didn't have a stamp that worked well for a sign at the top of the stand, I used the strand of lights from one of their older stamp sets called Halloween Party.

The background of this card with inked with Tumbled Glass, Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink.  I also used one of my stencils to create the snow drifts.  Once I had my background inked, I cut it to 5.25" x 4.0".  I spattered the sky with watered down white acrylic paint.

My little friends are all colored with Copic markers in the following colors:

  • G24, G94, G99, E35, E37, E39 - Trees
  • E35, E37, E39, BG90, BG93, R49 - Sign
  • E40, E41, E42 - Moose
  • E40, E41, E42 - Antlers
  • W00, W1, W3, W5, W6. W7, C00, C0 - Raccoon
  • E41, E41, E42 - Bunny
  • E97, E99, E08, E09 - Tree Stand, Sled Base
  • C2, C4, C6 - Sled Runners
  • B93, B95 B97 - Blue
  • BG72, BG75, BG78 - Teals
  • E42, E43, E44 - Brown
  • R22, R32, R46 - Red
  • YR20, YR21, YR23 - Orange
  • Y21, Y23, Y26 - Yellow
For the sentiment, I used the new Christmas Word Strips.

This was such a fun scene to create and I can't wait to play with this set again!

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you have an amazing holiday season.

Hello there!  This is my submission for Craft Roulette #294.  Once again, the wheel came up with some fun parameters.  I have been waiting to use this stamp from Unity Stamps called Snugglebuck.  He is just the cutest - don't you think?

The parameters this week are:

Project - A2

Colors - Holiday

Element - From the Mountains

Random - Fancy Paper

The Copic markers that I used to color this fun guy are:

  • YG06, YG09, G07 - Greens

The fancy paper is from the Lawn Fawn Collection called All The Sparkles.  There is also a thin strip of wood veneer that I think came from American Crafts.

T-rrific Dino Snow Globe Christmas Shaker Card

Hello friends.  Today I have a shaker card that I created with products from Trinity Stamps.  Earlier this year, they came out with some really cute dinosaur stamps, which I had a ton of fun playing with.  I was actually trying to decorate my tree and got to thinking that I sure could have used some little grabbers to get at the top of the tree - hence, the idea to make a card with this T-Rex decorating his tree.  I knew it would be cute as a snow globe shaker card - so this is what I came up with.

To start this card, I used the Snowglobe-Shaped Card Die Set to cut the card base from some red striped patterned paper.  I also cut the cardbase from white cardstock, so that I could beef up the inside of the card because my patterned paper wasn't very sturdy.  I glued the right side of the card base on the inside of the card and then put my sentiment on it.

For the snow globe, I cut out 8 snow globe pieces to layer together to create the well for the shaker pieces.

In inked a piece of white cardstock with Tumbled Glass and Prize Ribbon Distress Oxide Ink.  Once my ink was dry, I ran it through the die cutter with the snow globe die and the inside piece of the snow globe that cuts the openings for the snowflakes.

For the scene inside the snow globe, I used the new Tiny Christmas Tree Die for his tree.  The T-Rex is from the T-riffic Dinos Stamp Set.  Once I had him colored I used the coordinating die set to cut him out.  The stocking cap with the reindeer antlers come from the new Festivi-cheese Stamp Set.  The ornaments, candy cane and packages from from the stamp set called Little Christmas Tree, which from the  Stamptember 2024 release.

Before I sealed up my snow globe, I added some of the Classic Christmas Confetti.

The Copic colors I used for this card are:

  • YR20, YR21, YR23, YR24, YR27 - Dino
  • E33, E35, E39 - Antlers
  • R14, R29, R39 - Reds
  • YG01, YG05, YG17 - Greens
To finish up my card, I used the "Merry" die from the Simply Sentimental: Merry Die Set.

This was a really fun card to make and I am sure there is some little friend out there that would love to receive it.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you have a great holiday season.

Sweet November's Snowman Postage Pals

Hello!  I spent a relaxing afternoon coloring the other day.  Sweet November Stamps came out with a new release and I splurged on the Digital Stamps 2025 Joyful Gatherings Clear Stamp Bundle.  I really like digital stamps because I am able to not only resize but arrange them without having to do any masking.

For this card I used the Postage Pals: Snowmen Set and then used their clear stamp set - Year Round Post Marks to add the little post marks on the card.  I also used the Waffle Flower Postage Collage A7 Die.

I used Copic markers in the following colors:

  • B0000, BV31, B60 - Snowmen
  • B000, B60, BV31 - Ground Snow
  • B0000, B000, B52, B41 - Sky
  • BG75, BG78 - Background Trees
  • E15, E17, E18, E41, E42 - Squirrel
  • W3, W5, W7, W9 - Black Top Hat
  • YG00, B04, B05 - Turquoise-ish color
  • R02, R05, R29 - Reds
  • RV02, RV06, RV09 - Pinks
  • Y35, Y38, YR69 - Orange
The little trees and fence in the background of the individual stamps, I drew in with my markers.  My trees are little crooked and mis-shaped but I think they are all right.

Once I had my card colored I adhered it to a piece of cardstock cut to 5" x 7".

I am just thrilled to pieces with the way this card turned out and look forward to using these digi stamps in other projects.  Stay tuned.

Thank you for stopping by!

Hello!  Happy Thanksgiving week!  Can you believe it?

Today I have a card that was such fun to make.  I made it using digi stamps from the new Sweet November Stamps release called Joyful Gatherings.  I am not sure how long the collection is available as digi stamps, but I am sure glad I was able to purchase it.  They are the bomb!!

I used the stamps from Postage Pals: Santa Reindeer, and laid them out to fit the Waffle Flower Postage Collage A7 die.

I used Copic markers in the following colors:

  • E50, E51 ,E11, E04 - Santa Face
  • R02, R05, R29, R39 - Reds
  • G09, G19, G28 - Greens

  • BJ75, BG78 - Background Trees
  • B91, B95, B97, C00, C0, C1, C3 - Background Snow & Sky

Since I had this image on my computer, I just used one of the fonts that I had and added in my own sentiment.

Once I was done with my coloring, I used the Clear Stamps Set - Year Round Post Marks along with some red embossing powder.

I am just crazy and about the was this card turned out, there are a few little oopsies but that's okay.  I am still learning how to use my markers.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful Holiday season!

Sledding Fun Slider Card

Hello friends!  It wouldn't be Christmas card making season without at least one gnome card. Trinity Stamps has my absolute favorite gnomes!  I love these little friends on their sled speeding down the mountain with their little igloo in the background. This pair is also perfect for a slider card.

For the background on this card, I inked a piece of white cardstock with Tumbled Glass, Prize Ribbon and Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide Ink.

I also used the Embossed Edge Hill & Slope die to cut my hills.  I dusted the edges of them with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink.

I used a die from the Slide and Spin Die Set to cut out my opening for the slide piece.  I also stamped the sentiment of the front hill before I assembled the card.

I stamped and die cut the gnomes from he Sledding Fun Stamp & Die set.  The igloo and trees are from the SnoGNOME Stamp & Die Set.

I colored them with Copic markers in the following colors:

  • RV04, RV06, RV13, RV17 - Pinks
  • YG13, YG07, G07 - Greens
  • E35, E39 - Shoes
  • C00, C0, C2, C4 - Beards
  • R17, R29 - Sled Runners
  • Y06, Y35, YR16 - Yellows
  • E53, E34, E25 - Sled
  • E000, E00, E11 - Noses

Once I got my card all put together, I added a few Fuchsia Sparkle Spots to add some glitz to the corner of my cards.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a happy holiday season.

Nutcracker Cup Character

Hello!  It is that Holiday Season yet again.  I am planning on giving a few Starbucks gift cards to a few friends so I thought that I would play with one of the Cup Characters from Trinity Stamps.

I wanted to use the Cup Character: Nutcracker Add On.  My first thought was to do Nutcracker to add on to their new Take-Out Cup Shaped Card Die but after making the nutcracker in monotone colors, it definitely needed a bit of color.  I used an old die to make a red and green cardstock plaid background and then added it to another cardstock layer cute with their Dainty Scallop Rectangles Die Set.

For the inside of the card, I made a small envelope to hold the gift card.  I used the Simply Sentimental: Merry stamp set for the sentiment.

This was really fun to make and now I can't decide which character to do next!  Will it be at Santa, Snowman, Gingerbread Man or Penguin.  Stary tuned!

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Holidays!

Vintage Snowman - Lovely Layers by Honey Bee Stamps

Hello!  Can you believe Thanksgiving is only a week away!  Where did the year go?

Today I have a card that I made using Honey Bee Stamps Lovely Layers: Vintage Snowman.  I love the vintage Christmas look from the 1950's and 1960's.  It is just always so cheerful!

Every year, I say I am going to make a real effort to use my ever growing patterned paper stash, so I dug thru ti and dug out these oldies by goodies.

For the sentiment, I used a couple stamp and die sets from Trinity Stamps.  The ones I used are Simply Sentimental: Merry and Simply Sentimental: Christmas.  Trinity Stamps has a whole collection of Simply Sentimental sentiments, that are my go to to find just the right sentiment.  You might want to check them out.

This card is so darn cute - I can't wait to send it out this Christmas season.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a Merry Holiday Season!

#293 Craft Roulette Challenge - Caroling Woodland Friends

Hello friends!!  Today I have another card  for the current Craft Roulette Challenge #293.  I loved the parameters for this week and I actually had these stamp sets by Gerda Steiner Designs on my desk to use soon.  They are called Caroling Woodland Friends and Woodland Holiday Friends

The parameters for this challenger were:

Project - Book Binding Card (I had never made one before)

Colors - Sandwich Shop ( I figured red and black would work or Subway colors also)

    Element - Music

    Random - Wrapping(s)(ing)

For the cardbase, I cut a piece of black cardstock at 5.5" x 4.25".  I scored it at 4.25" and 3.25".  I glued the area between the left edge of the card and the 1" score line to create my book.  I glued a piece of patterned paper cut to .75" x 5.0" and glued it in the book binding space.  I placed eyelets 5/8" from the top and lower edges of the card.  I threaded a piece of red twine between the two eyelets and tied a bow.

For the image on the right side of the card, I decided that I would do a little stamping and masking since it was such a small area.  Once I had my area stamped and masked, I ink blended on top of the masking using Tumbled Glass, Prize Ribbon, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink.  I heat embossed the notes above the little mouse and the sentiment with gold embossing powder.  I also, spattered my sky with watered down white acrylic paint.

The most fun part of masking and inking is removing the mask.  It never ceases to make me smile!

I colored in my happy little friends using Copic markers in the following colors:

  • E33, E35, E37
  • YG13, YG07, G07
  • C0, C2, C4
  • YR30, YR23, YR24, YR27
  • Y06, Y35, YR16
  • B00, BG01, FBG2
Once they were colored, I heat embossed a few more notes above the little squirrel's head.

I am just thrilled with the way that this card turned out.  I also really enjoyed learning how to make a book binding card.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have an amazing day!

#292 - Craft Roulette Challenge ....Radiant Resilience by Unity Stamps

Hello card makers!  Today I have card for the current Craft Roulette Challenge #292.  This card just fell together with this weeks parameters.  I just love when that happens.

The parameters are:

    Project: Encouragement Card

    Colors: Sophisticated

    Element: House Pet(s)

    Random: Thread or Twine

For this card, I used the Radiant Resilience Stamp by Unity Stamp Co.  I love sunflowers but my favorite piece of this set is the sentiment.  One of the things I love about stamps from Unity is that they have a lot of detail on them, so they are a very quick color.  I let the details in the stamp do most of the work and then I just add in a bit of color.

I used the following Copic colors for the sunflower:

  • Y08, Y13, Y35, YR16
  • E17, E18, E39
  • For the house pet element, I want to keep it subtle, so I used the Dog Silhouette Die by Waffle Flower Stamps.  I cut him from brown cardstock and then dusted the edges with a little Ground Espresso Distress Oxide Ink.

I am so pleased with the way that this card turned out and I will save it for just the right moment.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have an amazing day!

Small Town Season's Greetings

Hello friends.  I have another card made with the Season Of Giving digital stamps from Sweet November Stamps.  I am having just the best time coloring these little friends.

When I first started working on this card, I had printed two copies.  The first copy that I worked on, I colored in most of the characters but was really struggling to figure out a good background.  Then I had the crazy idea of making the building front brick. I didn't like my first attempt, so I used my second copy and started with the background first.  I found this a lot easier to select the colors for the clothing on my little family and bell ringer.  I used a ruler and a pencil to draw in my bricks.  I like the way it turned out.

I used Copic Markers for my coloring in the following colors:

  • E41, E42, E43 - Awning
  • E08, E09 - Brick
  • C5 - Mortar
  • N1, N2, N4 - Window Trim
  • B0000- Window
  • G21, YG63, G94 - Garland
  • B0000 - Window
  • C0, C1, C3 - Beard
  • B34, B97, B99 - Jeans
  • E33, E35, E39 - Shoes & Purse
  • E000, E00, E11, E21 - Skin
  • RV11, RV32, RV93 - Little Girl’s Coat
  • YR30, E60, E51 - Little Girl’s Scarf & Hat
  • Y21, Y15, YR23 - Hair, Packages
  • YR23, Y26 - Bell, Coins
  • BV11, V25M V28 - Mom’s Coat
  • BV000, BV01, BV11 - Mom’s Hat, Scarf, Coat Trim
  • W0, W2, W4 - Sidewalk

Once I had my scene colored, I cut it down to 5.25" x 4.0".  I adhered it to a piece of cardstock cut to 5.5" x 4.25 and then adhered it to a card base.

I love the way this card turned out.  It reminds me of shopping is a small town for Christmas.

Thank you so much fro stopping by today!

Season Of Giving - Craft Roulette 291

Hello and Happy November!  Today I have a card for the current Craft Roulette Challenge #291.  I was really excited to make this card because I love the new Season Of Giving Collection by Sweet November Stamps.  This collection is digital and I love digital stamps because I am able to resize and manipulate them so easily in my software.

This card has a whole lot of mistakes, but they were good ones because I learned a lot and hopefully won't make them again.  Sometimes I think that we are too hard on ourselves and expect perfection, at least I do. I need to remember that I make cards for the joy of it and they don't have to be perfect.

The parameters for this weeks challenge are:

  • Project: Postcard
  • Colors: Easter - The little girls outfit and the packages are pastel-ish colors.
  • Element: Pack(s)(ing) - I stretched it to packages.  😉
  • Random: Shiney - the windows and the giving bucket.
I used Copic markers in the following colors:

G21, G24, G28 - awning, building trim, man't shirt
W0, W2, W3, W5 - sidewalk
BG10, BG11, BG23 - scarf, hat trim, purse, mittens
B0000 - widows
C0, C2, C3, C5, C7 - vest & sign
E08, E09, E19 - building
R81, RV34, RV56 - coat
Y00, Y06, Y19 - packages
E000, E00, E21, R00, R20 - skin
B000, B21, B23, B24 - jeans
R05, R24, R39 bucket
E33, E35, E37 - shoes, hair

Okay, now for the goofs on this card.....I wanted to antique the edges, so I used my Copic spray system with a E33 marker installed.  I was in a hurry, so rather than use mint tape to mask off  the left side of my postcard, I just covered that side with a piece of scrap cardstock.  Once I had the right side done, I didn't like the way the left side looked.  I thought that I would just spray the edges.  I wasn't paying attention to my scrap mask, and accidentally sprayed so that there is a harsh line on the upper left corner of the card.  That is where it all came tumbling down.  LOL!  Before I knew it, I had spray everywhere.  I probably could have added more color to the upper left corner, but I stopped trying to fix it before I totally ruined it.  I don't think it's horrible, and I like everything about it except for that line, but it definitely isn't what I had pictured in my mind.  Oh well.

Since I had to print out my image anyway, I typed the sentiment using a couple of different fonts.  The postage stamp is from Postage Collage North Pole Stamp Set by Waffle Flower.

Even with the oopsies, I still love this card.

Thank you for stopping by today and happy card making.

Sandy
