An Extra Sprinkles Kind Of Day!

Hello!  I am back today with a card I created with the Trinity Stamps and Simon Says Stamp collaboration for STAMPtember.  This set is called Ice Cream Gnomes and it has just the most adorable little gnomes.  It has little guys with ice cream cone hats and one of the gnomes has a cake hat!  Adorbs!!!

Since there is always a need for Birthday cards, I thought that I would use this set to make a birthday card.  I have a YouTube video up on my channel with the melting ice cream on my channel and tomorrow I will have a Halloween card where I used the one gnome as a cupcake.

To start this card, I inked a 6" x 6" piece of white cardstock with Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Ink.  Then I used the Stars & Sprinkles Stencil.  This is a great 4 piece set so you can really play with color.  I used Picked Raspberry, Salvaged Patina, Ripe Persimmon and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Ink.  Once I cut my background down to 4.0" x 5.25", I dusted the edges with Wilted Violet Ink.  I also spattered it with metallic silver watercolor for a little sparkle.

I used the Cut The Cake Die to make my shaker.  When I make shaker cards where the window is more detailed than a simple circle or rectangle, I make a shaker well with multiple layer of cardstock cut with the die and then glued together.  For this card, I taped my two die cut pieces together an cut 8 layers of cardstock.  I glued the layers together and then glued it down to my stenciled base.

The frosting pieces from pink cardstock.  I dusted the edges with Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide Ink.  I glued those at the bottom of the wells I built.  I place some Multicolor Meteorite Embellishment pieces in the wells.  This is one of my favorite mixes because it is so colorful and sparkly.  I covered the wells with a piece of actetate and then toped it with a piece cut using the die combo from brown cardstock. The cake plate is a metallic silver cardstock.

I colored my gnome with Copic Markers in the following colors:

  • C0, C2, C3
  • RV10, RV13, RV14
  • E21, E23, E25, E27
  • B00, BG01, FBG2
  • Y08, Y35, YR16
  • E00, E21

i cut a piece of purple cardstock 5.5 x 8.5".  I scored it at 4.25" and folded it in half.  I glued the cake background to the front of the folded card and glued a piece of white cardstock cut to 4.0 " x 5.25" on inside left of the cardbase.  I used the sentiment included with the stamp set for the front of the card.  The inside of the card also has a sentiment from the set - which was just perfect for this card.

This is such a colorful and happy card!  I can't wait to send it to a friend on their birthday!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  Make sure to check out this collaboration right away.  It has limited quantity and when it's gone, it's gone.

Ice Cream Gnomes - Simon Says Stamp collaboration with Trinity Stamps

Hi guys!  I am so excited to share this card that I made with the Ice Cream Gnomes set from Simon Says Stamp.  It is the collaboration with Trinity Stamps that released today as part of STAMPtember.  This is such a fun month for card makers with all the fun collaborations.  It is also STAMPtember's 16 year anniversary!  Wow!  16 years!!!

These little ice cream "Gnomes" are just adorable.  I also like that the set is birthday focused, however, you could use these for the different holidays as well.

I thought it would be fun to have my clouds in the shape of the ice cream on top of a cone.  To start, I lightly blended Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink on the top two thirds of my white cardstock.  Using the Little Layered Ice Cream Cone Stencil with white pigment ink.  I layed in the solid part of the ice cream in different spot on the sky.  Make sure you give the white ink some time to set - it does take a little longer than the other inks.

While the clouds were drying, I used Tea Dye Distress Oxide Ink to lightly lay in my sand.  I decided that it would be cute to have the ice cream sprinkles sprinkled in the sand.  Using the
Layered Confetti & Ribbon Stencil, I inked them in using Saltwater Taffy, Ripe Persimmon and Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Ink.

I layed in the shading on the clouds with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink using the shading part of the Little Layered Ice Cream Cone Stencil.

I colored my little friend with Copic Markers in the following colors:

  • R00, R30 - Nose
  • RV00, RV23 - Ice Cream
  • E53,E33, E99 - Cone
  • BG01, BG45
  • Y15, YR16

I used black embossing powder to heat emboss the sentiment on the front of the card.

I used the Rainbow Sherbet Clay Confetti pieces in the sand to add to the ice cream theme.

I used foam dots to pop up my little ice cream gnome to give my card a little dimension.

This was such a fun card to make!

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you have been inspired to create your own Ice Cream Gnome card,

Sandy

Spellbinders Tick Tock Halloween Cuckoo Clock

Hi Friends!  Today I'm up on the Scrapbook Pal Blog with a beautiful Halloween Card.  I love this time of year because Halloween is my favorite holiday to make cards for.

This card is created with the recent Spellbinders Cuckoo Cottage Collection. This is such a fun collection because it has the standard Cuckoo Clock and Add On for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Winter.  I chose the Spellbinders Cuckoo Cottage Collection Cuckoo Cottage and the Halloween Tick Tock add on.

I wanted a fun background but felt like the clock was going to be busy enough, so I used the All About Chirstmas Collection – Bow & Bell Scallop Frame to create my background.

I cut the scalloped part of the frame from purple cardstock and dusted up the edges with a little Villainous Potion Distress Oxide Ink. I used the die that is the next size down from scalloped frame to cut a piece of gray cardstock.  I dusted the gray cardstock with a little Hickory Smoked Distress Oxide Ink.  I glued the purple/gray scalloped piece on a piece of turquoise cardstock. Once I had those layers adhered together, I place them on a piece of 5.0” x 4.25” black cardstock.  I like to use my Sweet Petunia Precision Glue Press with Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue.

Next, I started to build my cuckoo clock.  I used two shades of turquoise cardstock along with orange, light gray, white, purple, yellow and black cardstock for all the little pieces.  Once I placed the trim on the house, it felt a little flat, so I took a C2 Copic marker and added shading to give it the appearance of woodgrain.  For the purple pieces, I dusted the edges with Villainous Potion Distress Oxide Ink.  On the orange cardstock, I dusted the edges with Crackling Campfire Distress Oxide Ink.  I used Hickory Smoked Distress Oxide Ink on the light gray cardstock and Pumice Stone Distress Oxide Ink on the white cardstock.

I found it easiest to build the cuckoo house first so I knew where to place it on my background and where to place the chains and the pendulums as the bottom.

There are so many fun little pieces in the Halloween Tick Tock add on that it was hard to decide which ones to use.  I chose the two black cats that mirror each other along with a couple of pumpkins, a bat, a skull, a bone, a piece of candy corn, ghosts and cute little ghosts.

I am just crazy about how this card turned out and I may have to hang on to it for a little bit.  I am also looking forward to making a Thanksgiving and Christmas card with the other add on dies.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have been inspired to make a Halloween card of your own.
