An Extra Sprinkles Kind Of Day!

 

Hello!  I am back today with a card I created with the Trinity Stamps and Simon Says Stamp collaboration for STAMPtember.  This set is called Ice Cream Gnomes and it has just the most adorable little gnomes.  It has little guys with ice cream cone hats and one of the gnomes has a cake hat!  Adorbs!!!  

Since there is always a need for Birthday cards, I thought that I would use this set to make a birthday card.  I have a YouTube video up on my channel with the melting ice cream on my channel and tomorrow I will have a Halloween card where I used the one gnome as a cupcake.  

To start this card, I inked a 6" x 6" piece of white cardstock with Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Ink.  Then I used the Stars & Sprinkles Stencil.  This is a great 4 piece set so you can really play with color.  I used Picked Raspberry, Salvaged Patina, Ripe Persimmon and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Ink.  Once I cut my background down to 4.0" x 5.25", I dusted the edges with Wilted Violet Ink.  I also spattered it with metallic silver watercolor for a little sparkle.

I used the Cut The Cake Die to make my shaker.  When I make shaker cards where the window is more detailed than a simple circle or rectangle, I make a shaker well with multiple layer of cardstock cut with the die and then glued together.  For this card, I taped my two die cut pieces together an cut 8 layers of cardstock.  I glued the layers together and then glued it down to my stenciled base.  

The frosting pieces from pink cardstock.  I dusted the edges with Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide Ink.  I glued those at the bottom of the wells I built.  I place some Multicolor Meteorite Embellishment pieces in the wells.  This is one of my favorite mixes because it is so colorful and sparkly.  I covered the wells with a piece of actetate and then toped it with a piece cut using the die combo from brown cardstock. The cake plate is a metallic silver cardstock.

I colored my gnome with Copic Markers in the following colors:  

• C0, C2, C3
• RV10, RV13, RV14
• E21, E23, E25, E27
• B00, BG01, FBG2
• Y08, Y35, YR16
• E00, E21

i cut a piece of purple cardstock 5.5 x 8.5".  I scored it at 4.25" and folded it in half.  I glued the cake background to the front of the folded card and glued a piece of white cardstock cut to 4.0 " x 5.25" on inside left of the cardbase.  I used the sentiment included with the stamp set for the front of the card.  The inside of the card also has a sentiment from the set - which was just perfect for this card.  

This is such a colorful and happy card!  I can't wait to send it to a friend on their birthday!
