Hello friends! I am always looking for ways to incorporate older stamps and dies with newer ones that have come out. It helps me stretch creatively and it definitely stretches my stash. I have really enjoyed the newest release by Trinity Stamps. I just can't seem to leave the A-2 Window Box Card Die Set and the Gashapon Machine Die Set alone. I was working on another card the other day and thought that the combination of these two dies would create the cutest shop card. I previously created a card where I used them for a beach treat stand, so I this time, I used them to create a candy shop.
To create the shaker well for this card, I used the A-2 Window Box Die Set. I cut 100lb cardstock to 5.5" x 8.5". I secured the widow die in the large die piece with temporary tape and then butted up the short side of the cardstock up to the part of the die that would create a scored line if I was using the whole piece. I ran it through my die cut machine to created what I will call the "shop shaker well"
I cut 6 of the shop shaker wells from 100lb white cardstock and one from the patterned paper that I was going to use for my shop front.
I glued the 6 pieces of what cardstock together and set them aside while I stamped and colored my images.
I did a little masking on the candy counter and the "Sweets" sign. I removed the cash register on the counter and the bracket that holds the sign. I used the die set to cut the other images out.
I cut the image of the candy counter so that it would fit behind the store shaker well. Once it was cut to size, I glued it to the back of the well.
I cut a piece of patterned paper to 5.25" x 4.0" and glued it on top of a piece of purple cardstock cut to 5.5" x 4.25". This will be the background for the front of my card.
I glued the shop shaker piece to may patterned paper background. Then I filled the well of the shaker with Dot Dot Hooray Confetti Embellishments and Opaque Magenta Shaker Pops.
I glued a piece of acetate to the back of the store front that was cut from patterned paper. Then, I glued the candy jars to the acetate so they will be on the inside of the shaker well. In order to keep the jars from falling backwards in the well, I put a piece of tape across the back of them. This will also prevent the little shaker pieces from getting in between them and the window. Once the jars were secured together, I glued the entire back of the shop front piece and sealed the shaker elements inside.
After I assembled the awning, I glued it to the top of the shop and glued my little friends to the bottom of the shop.
I made a card base from white cardstock cut at 5.5" x 8.5" scored at 4.25". I folded this in half. I have another piece of white cardstock at 5.25" x 4.0" and used the Simply Sentimental: Sweet stamp set for the sentiment. I also used a few of the stamps from the Cozy Bear Sweet Shop to add a few little pieces of candy near the sentiment. I glued this piece of the inside of my card base.
To finish the card, I glued the card front to the card base.
I just love the way that this card turned out and I can't wait to make more little shops for Christmas or Halloween. I think you could even do one for the 4th of July.
I have linked my YouTube process video below if you want a more detailed tutorial.
Thank you so much for stopping by today - I hope I have inspired you to make a little shop of your own.
Oh, my goodness! I hope Lawn Fawn keeps coming up with new little outfits for their Build A Critter friends.
I used the Woodland Critters Graduation Add On for the caps along the side of the front of the card. Once I had them glued in place, I trimmed around the upper edge of the caps to give my card a fun edge.
I felt like the green background was a little bare, so I used the Tiny Sentiments: Graduation with Versamark ink to add some of the phrases to the background.
I used the new Build A Critter Graduation Accessories Die for her little outfit.
I used the same cardstock colors to cut out the sentiment using the Giant Yay Die Set.
For the sentiment inside, I used the Better Together Stamp Set. I don't believe that stamp set is still available.
This was a fun card to make and fairly quick.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have an amazing day!
Hello! Today I have the cutest Father's Day card that I created using some of the new goodies from Lawn Fawn's recent release. I just love all the Lawn Fawn Mice and these guys are just the best.
For the background on this card, I used the Workshop Backdrop: Portrait. I wanted to switch around the colors so, I used a light gray for the pegboard. I cut it once out of a dark gray and then out of dark gray.
I used the Oliver's Stitched ABC's and 123's for the lettering. For the rope lifting the toolbox, I use the "flight" trails from the I Like Big Butterflies Die Set.
My little friends are from the Mice Tools and Mice Tools Add On Stamp Sets and Coordinating Dies. I colored them with Copic Markers in the following colors:
B21, B41, B45
E50, E53, E55
E31, E33, E37
RV10, RV21
I used a silver gel pen for the different tools rather than markers.
I used Henry's Build A Sentiment: Tools for the sentiment on the bottom of the card. I heat embossed it using black embossing powder.
I used the "Happy Father's Day" sentiment that is included with the Mice Tool Stamp Set.
I think that this is an adorable card that would be perfect for a dad or grandpa.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!
Hello! I spent a quiet afternoon in my "Zen Den" working on a few cards. I had these dies and paper on my worktable, and they fit a few of the Craft Roulette Challenge parameters this week. My mom has been gone for a number of years, but I thought my daughter in-law might like to give this to her mom for either Mother's Day or her Birthday.
This weeks parameters:
Project: Diagonal
Colors: Calm
Element: Post(er)(s)
Random: Hexagon
Supplies:
Notecard Postage Dies - Catherine Pooler
Simply Sentimental: Mom Stamps & Die Cut - Trinity Stamps
Hexagons - Might be a Stampin Up Die?
I think this is just a lovely card. The "wheel" picked a nice collection of parameters. Can't wait to see what next week brings.
Hello friends! Now how many times have you heard "I want to play claw game"? I know that my guys always liked to try their luck. I might still take a peek occasionally when I walk by to see if something is just ripe for the picking.
To
start this card, I used the Starfield Letterpress Plate with silver glimmer foil on
my cardstock. I have foiled both sides
of the cardstock, thinking that I would use the stars for the background in my
scene, but as you will see later, I changed my mind, which I do a lot when I am
creating a card. You are going to need
two of these pieces. On the first piece
that I cut out, I used the die with both windows attached with temporary
tape.On the second piece, I removed the
center window and left in the side window. There is another die in the A-2 Box Card Die Set that cuts
out a piece that goes inside the box for you to attach little elements to
create the 3-D effect. I cut
two of them from the scrap cardstock.
One will go at the top of the window opening and the other one will go
directly under the window.
The die puts two score lines in the piece. One is about an eighth of an inch from the
outside edge, which will be the tab that will connect the two pieces together
and the other score line is to create a corner of the box. I have found that the best way to make a
sharp and precise corner is to gently fold it towards me to help break down the
paper fibers and then fold it in the opposite direction. I use a really thin metal ruler next to the
score line to help me with the initial fold. I used my bone folder to give
my piece a good crease once I have it folded how I want it.
I took thin double-sided adhesive, about
an eight of an inch, and put it on the little tab piece and then on the right
and left side openings of the windows. I
used a little bit larger tape, about a quarter of an inch, at the top and bottom
of the windows. I do this just to give
the windows a little bit of a stronger hold.
I cut two pieces of acetate to 1.875” x 3.5” for the
side windows and one piece of acetate at 3.0” X 3.5” for the center
window. Once the protective tape is
peeled off, I placed the acetate in the openings. It is very important that you make sure that
the acetate isn’t preventing the card from folding at the fold lines. You may need to do a tiny bit of trimming
especially on the side windows.
On the inside tab pieces, I folded them at the die created
score lines and added a piece of double-sided adhesive to each end.
Now we get to start decorating out A-2 Box Card with the
pieces that the Gashapon Machine Die Set creates. I applied double sided adhesive to the
back of the cardstock that I am going to use.
Rip and Stick sheets work well for this.
Some of these pieces are so small, that it is really hard to glue and
place them, even with tweezers, so that you don’t make a mess with the glue –
having the adhesive makes it a whole lot easier.
I also use a piece of heat-resistant
Teflon, to place my little pieces on once I remove the protective backing from
the tape. This works really well to keep
track of the pieces especially when you are using the same die multiple times
with different colors of cardstock. I
started with the windows. I used
the Gashapon Machine Die to cut out the thick frame for the center window. For the thin trim on that piece, along with
the frame on the side windows, I used the window pieces from the A-2 Box Card Die Set.
Okay, here’s a helpful tip!
To make this little light bar without cutting all those little circles
and then trying to evenly space them on the bar, l let the die work for me. I used the die with all the little
circles to cut the red cardstock first.
Then I placed the bar die over the red cardstock where I have the
circles cut out, taped it down and ran it through the die cut machine. That cuts up the top layer of the light
bar. Next I used the bar die to cut
out a piece of gold cardstock – this is the base of the light bar. Once that is cut, I place the red piece on
top of the gold bar and now you have perfectly spaced lights.
Once the awning is built, I will place at the top of the
machine. I used liquid glue on top of the adhesive to give me a little
barrier so that I can get it placed exactly where I want it before I press it
down.
I used the 8-Bit Birthday Stamp Set to stamp the arrow on the prize
door and the .25 wording on the coin slot piece. The little .25 stamp just cracks me up – it
is such a little thing but adds so much!
To create the play button, I used the little die to cut out
a piece of black cardstock and also a piece of red card stock. The black piece is the base of the die and
the red pieces create the button.
For the joystick, I cut the outline from black card stock.
Then I used the die that cut the little pieces that fit on the die to
cut out the pieces from the gold, green and red cardstock. Again, I used the liquid glue to help me
get the placement right.
To place a sentiment on this card, I cut a piece of white
cardstock to 2.75 x 5.25. I used the
sentiment from theStuffies Stamp Set and a couple of friends to decorate that
piece. I used liquid glue to center it
on the back of the card. This is a
perfect area for the sender to write a personal message or sign the back of the
card.
I also glued a piece of blue
glitter paper to the other side of this piece to be the background in the
game. The glitter piece is cut to 3.0” x
3.5”.
I colored my Stuffies with Copic Markers in the following colors:
RV000, RV10, RV02 -pig
T1, T3 RV000-cow
YG0000, YG00, R04-chicken
C00, C1, C3, C5-lamb
YG0000, YG00, Y13, Y18-duck
YG13, YG09, G19-dino
E42, E43, E44-puppy
E15, E29, E39-bear
I used the Stuffies Stamp and Coordinating Die Set to stamp out 3-4 images to color making sure that I had enough to complete the project.
I started with the stuffy that has been caught by
the claw. I built my claw and attached it to my dino. I determine where I want the claw mechanism to be on my upper tab and attach the rectangle
piece and hose. I attach a thin
piece of acetate to give extra support to the claw that holds the Dino and then glue
him to the acetate.
I have attached some stuffies at the bottom of the window
making sure not to get any glue on the acetate.
I built a stack of stuffies from all my friends, concentrating on
the height of the stack staying over to the right side so that they don’t cause
a problem with the dino in the claw. I
attached that pile of stuffies to the bottom tab making sure that the don’t
impede the closing of the card.
To close up the box.
I removed the tape on the one piece that has just one window. I ran a bead of glue along the piece of
tape. Then I lined up the top and bottom edges and butted the long piece right up the fold and give
it a good press.
Next, I turned the box so that I could see the
inside of the box. I lined up the free end of the tab at the fold that forms
the box corner; I removed the protective
piece on both tab piece and fold the back piece over so that it catches the
back of the box and creates the bridge all the way across. I will give it a good press on the outside of
the box.
To close the box, I ran another bead of glue along
the tape once I remove the protective tape and press the edges together. I need to apply a little more pressure where
the glitter cardstock on the background is because glitter cardstock doesn’t
play well with glue sometimes.
Now have a box There are two bridges inside the box and
the box collapses which means it is easy to put in and envelope to mail. How cool is that????
Thank you so much for spending a little time with me
today. I hope that you have found this
video helpful in constructing your own A-2 Box Card Die. In addition to the Gashapon Machine Die, there is also a really cool retro Arcade Machine Builder on that fits
perfectly on the box perfectly. Check out the video on my channel.

Hello! I was looking through some of my stamps by Gerda Steiner Designs recently and came across this guy living his best life and thought that it had been a little bit since he came out to play. This stamp set is called Vrooming By!
To make the main focus of the card look like a stamp, I used the Pink Fresh Nested Rectangles Postage Edge Dies to cut it from Hammermill Cardstock, Premium Color Copy, 100lb paper. I always use this paper for ink blending. I will use it for Copic coloring occasionally when I need a larger surface. I prefer to use X-Press It Blending Card but it is pretty expensive, so I use it mostly to stamp smaller images and cut them out with dies or my scan and cut.
I stamped and my little guy and then stamped and cut a mask for him. Once he was covered, I inked the ground with Tea Dye and Vintage Photo Distress Oxide. I then inked in the sky with Tumbled Glass.
I colored my little friend in with Copic Markers in the following colors:
R05, R17, R27 - Red
W0, W1, W5, W7, W9 - Gray
YG23, YG07, YG09 - Green
YR21, YR23, YR24, YR27 - Dog
Once that was colored, I used the Postage Die to cut it out and then layered it on red cardstock to highlight the postage cut edge.
The palm print behind the stamp was inked on white cardstock. I lightly inked the cardstock with Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide Ink. I used the Lawn Fawn Tropical Leaves Stencil with Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide. I cut this piece to 5.35" x 4.0".
I glued the "postage stamp" and stenciled cardstock on a piece of yellow cardstock cut to 5.5" x 4.25". Once that was assembled, I glued it to a card base.
I used the sentiments from the stamp set for the outside and inside of the card.
To add to the postage theme of the card, I used the Year Round Postmarks from Sweet November Stamps.
I think this is just a really fun card that would be used for a lot of different occasions.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day also.
Hello! Just a quick card for today. I have a cheerful little card today that has one of my favorite moths, Betty, by Emily Moore Designs. I just love building this little buddies. This particular moth was created with just the pieces from the Make A Month: Betty Die Set, but you can use the other little bits and pieces from the other Make A Moth Sets.
I used the colors on the patterned paper to select the colors for the moth. I used Emily Moore Design Decorative Sentiment Die Set to cut out the flowered paper and the white piece behind my moth. The addition of the white cardstock really helped the moth pop. The green background paper was cut using their Card Sentiment Dies. The largest die in this set is 5.25" x 4.0" which is perfect if you like to have a small border on the outside of the card front. I love a little border and do it on most of the cards that I make.
I used the same cardstock for the sentiment that I used to make my moth. I used the Hi, Hey Hello - Big and Bold. I added a little bit of "stitching" with my white gel pen to add a little be extra to the lettering without overpowering it.
To add a little texture to my card, I used a cream-colored flat lace to trim out the .5" strip along the left side of the card.
I just love the way this card turned out and think that it would be a great note card. It would also be a wonderful Birthday card depending on what you use for the inside sentiment.

Hello and happy Sunday! Today I have a card that I created for the current Craft Roulette Challenge. I had a couple of ideas but kept getting stumped by the Element parameter - hop(s)/hopping. I kept looking through my stamps and when I came across this poor little fellow, all I could see was him hopping along with his cane because he had a broken wing. Perfect!
Thise weeks parameters:
Project - Hello
Colors - Strawberry Fields
Elements - Hop(s)/hopping
Random - Big Letter(s)
The stamp and paper are from Unity Stamp Co. The stamp is called, Wing and A Prayer and the paper collection is Where Little Gardens Grow.
I colored my little friend with Copic Markers in the following colors:
Hello! Today I have the perfect birthday card for that old school arcade game player. Trinity Stamps has a fun new release that is perfect for a gamer.
I also really like the new 8-Bit Birthday Stamp and CoordinatingDie Set, so I put this card on a slimline base so I could use it as part of the sentiment on the outside of the card.
I used the 8-Bit Birthday Stamp Set for the inside of the card. I love how the stamp set gives you so many ways to create the perfect sentiment. This is the perfect sentiment for the person I have in mind for this card.
I love the way this card turned out and I am sure that I will be using it on future cards - it is perfect for so many people in my card list!
Hello! It seems that I am getting in the mood for a trip to the beach! This colorful shaker card was created with a couple of newer Trinity Stamps products and a couple of their older ones. I got the idea to create this little treat shop while I was making a card with both the new A-2 Window Box Card Die Cut and the Gashapon Machine Die Cut.
Hello! This is my final card featuring Meadow from the Crafty Crew Kit by Crafty Stamp Co.
This has been such a fun set to play with. Pre-orders end on April 15th, so jump on over to the Crafty Stamp Co. shop and get your order put it. Shipping is scheduled for May 5 - just in time for the summer travel season.
I used my favorite pattern from the patterned paper collection in this kit. I used the stencil, which also comes in the kit with some Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink. I also used the left over ink in my blending brush to dust my edges. I also watered down some ink to spatter on my paper to add a little dimension and interest.
I colored Meadow with Copic Markers in the following colors:
E00, E11, E33 - skin
E50, E51, E53 - hair
R20, R21, R22 - skirt
B000, B41, B52 - shorts & top shading
YG61, G82, G24 - scooter
C2, C3, C4 - seat and headlight
T1, T3, T5 - tires
For the sentiment, I used one from the stamp set. I stamped the flowers at the front and back of the sentiment and fussy cut the piece.
I popped up Meadow and the sentiment on foam dots to give the card some extra dimension.
To add a little extra to the upper left corner, I gathered a piece of the white organza ribbon that comes in the Monthly Subscriber Kit and anchored it to a pink button, which was included in the January Monthly Subscriber Kit.
Once my card front was finished, I attached it to a card base. The card base was created by cutting a piece of white cardstock to 5/5" x 8.5" and scoring it at 4.25" and then folding it.
I think that this makes a very lovely notecard. What do you think?
I have attached a link at the bottom of this post if you would like to follow along in the process.
Thank you for stopping by today and I hope that you have a few trips planned for this summer!
Hello! Today I have a card to share with you based on the current Craft Roulette Challenge. I haven't played for a few weeks but I took an afternoon to see what the wheel had in store for this challenge. I have to say that this card didn't pull together in my head right away, but as I was looking through my stash it started coming together.
Parameters:
PROJECT: Zoyfold
COLORS: Easter Egg
ELEMENTS: Seal(s)(ing)
RANDOM: 4-Squares
I was pretty sure that a walrus was part of the seal family but confirmed it with my friend Siri. The walrus and sentiment are a Catherine Pooler Stamp Set called Aw Shucks! I have had this stamp for a couple of years buy haven't used it. I didn't have the die, so I fussy cut it after I colored it. The anchors are from a Lawn Fawn Stamp Set called, Smooth Sailing.
I never thought that I would be using these colors for this stamp set but the wheel was in charge, so I went with softer colors that you might find on Easter Eggs.
I am really happy with the way this card turned out.
Hello! It is just a bout time for a road trip - or did I mean Toad Trip? Today I have a card that I created with a new stamp set that is included in the May Crafty Crew Kit by Crafty Stamp Co. This is such a fun kit to start the traveling season! Jump on over to their website to pre-order this kit. The pre-order window closes on April 15th!
Also, the patterned paper in this kit is absolutely adorable. I loved every print - so much that I didn't want to use it and just put it in my stash to look at and pet later. But........ I wound up using quite a bit of it for a few different travel themed cards. Now, I can't give the cards away ... just kidding.
Since I was using several different prints, I felt like I needed to separate the layers a little, so I decided to make this a shaker card. Once I built my well on the cute paper with the clouds and airplanes, I adhered the travel accessories on top of that paper. I added in my embellishments and then sealed it with a sheet of acetate.
Next, I put my traveling toads on some stamp shapes that I had cut out with some dies in my stash. I used the green plaid and the sky background paper. Once those were assembled, I glued them on top of my acetate leaving room for the sentiment which is from the same stamp collection.
To tie everything together, I trimmed out the card with a frame cut from the blue polka dot paper.
For this card, I colored all my little friends and their travel icons with Copic markers in the following colors:
YG23, YG17, G07
B21, B23, B45
R14, R17, R29
To finish up this card, I applied it to a card base. The card base is a piece of white cardstock cut to 5.5" x 8.5" scored at 4.25" and folded in half.
I didn't put sentiment inside the card because I think this would make a great note card! What do you think?
I am linking a process video down below if you want more precise details.
Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you have a "Toad Trip" in your future.
Part of the fun of making cards is making them for special occasions or people. This card celebrates getting a new fur-iend. I used a few dies from Emily Moore Designs and it couldn't have been easier or quicker.
The products that I used for this card are:
Decorative Sentiments Die Set
Yay Layered Word Die
All The Happy Things Stamp Set
I love that with Emily's dies, all you need are a few sheets of coordinating paper and you have a unique card. I definitely keep the Decorative Sentiments Die right next to my desk.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have an amazing day!!!!
Today I have a blast from the past for sure! The new Trinity Stamps release has put playing with paper on a whole new level. This card reminds me of days where my husband and I played Ms. Pacman for hours. Of course, I never beat him, but I sure did give it a try.
These dies, create the neatest dimensional card that is sure to put a smile on the recipient's face. I know I had a smile when I was making it. I have a video up that I will link at the bottom of this post, if you would like to see the process.
To start this card, I am using theA-2 Box Card Die Set. I have already foiled my cardstock using the Starfield Letterpress plate with silver glimmer foil. To make the box, you need to cut two pieces. The first piece is cut using the die without either of the window pieces inserted. The other piece is cut with the center window in the opening. I use a thin mint tape to hold it in place while I use my die cutting machine to cut the pieces. Before you put that die away, make sure to cut two of the longer tab pieces; they will be used as a bridge inside the box later. I cut mine from the scrap left from cutting the box pieces.
The die places score lines on these pieces. Fold along the score lines towards the inside of the box.
I use a thin double-sided tape on the tab pieces on the side of the box panel die cut pieces. I also apply double sided adhesive around the window openings.
I have used the new Arcade Machine Builder Die to cut the pieces to build my machine. For most of the pieces, I put double sided adhesive on the back of my cardstock before I cut them out - especially the real little pieces. Another thing I do, is peel the backing off the pieces and place them on a sheet of hear resistant Teflon. This allows me to organize my pieces without misplacing them. I currently have an obsession with matte metallic paper. For this project, I am using Encore Paper in Regal Purple, Turquoise, Periwinkle and Lilac. I love, love, love this stuff.
Once I have my pieces cut using the Arcade Machine Builder Die, place them on the A-2 Box Card Piece (that is the front of the box). It is much easier to work on these pieces before the box is constructed but don't worry, I'll get to that in a bit. Make sure to put a piece of acetate cut to 3.0" x 3.5" over the window opening.
I used the planets to hold up the sentiment. I've glued the sentiment between the two of the planets then glued the planets to thin strips of acetate. The thin acetate strips are what will hold the planets on the bridge tab to give them an appearance of floating.
The sentiment is from the new 8-Bit Birthday Stamp Set and Coordinating Die Set. I stamped, cut and heat embossed the sentiment for the inside of the box on a bright orange cardstock. While I have my supplies out, I also make stamp my sentiment for the back of the box.
To decorate the sides of the box, I use the new 8-Bit Alphabet Stamp Set and Coordinating Dies. I stamp a variety of gaming characters and symbols and heat emboss them. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out. I glued the sentiment on the back piece of the box and the little pieces on the sides of the box. I also glued a couple of colored planets on the back of the card to fill in some of the blank spaces.
I removed the protective tape from the tab edge of the back box piece and put a thin bead of glue over it. I placed the front of the box on top of the tab making sure to line up the top and the bottom. Make sure that you are placing the top piece up to the fold line and not over it. This will ensure that you have a nice corner.
I removed the tape from the end of the long tab piece and placed it right next to the fold line on the inside of the front panel of the card. I put these tabs at the top and bottom of the window.
Next, I attach the piece that has the planets and sentiment to the bridge piece so that it is looks like it is suspended in the window opening. I glue the little Martian in his flying saucer in the bottom left corner on that tab to also create dimension. To finish the inside of my screen, I glue one more little planet to the upper right side of the background.
Next, I removed the protective tape on the other side of my box and place a bead of glue over it. I press the edge of the box on the tab and seal up the box.
To finish up this scene, I remove the protective tape on the ends of each of the bridge pieces and press them up to the side of the box.
Is this not the absolutely the coolest card???? I just love the way it turned out.
I have tried my best to explain the construction of this card, but I do recommend you go to my YouTube video to see the process in action.
Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope you create a card to put a smile on someone's face today!
