Toad Trip

Hello!  It is just a bout time for a road trip - or did I mean Toad Trip?  Today I have a card that I created with a new stamp set that is included in the May Crafty Crew Kit by Crafty Stamp Co.  This is such a fun kit to start the traveling season!  Jump on over to their website to pre-order this kit.  The pre-order window closes on April 15th!

Also, the patterned paper in this kit is absolutely adorable.  I loved every print - so much that I didn't want to use it and just put it in my stash to look at and pet later.  But........ I wound up using quite a bit of it for a few different travel themed cards.  Now, I can't give the cards away ... just kidding.

Since I was using several different prints, I felt like I needed to separate the layers a little, so I decided to make this a shaker card.  Once I built my well on the cute paper with the clouds and airplanes, I adhered the travel accessories on top of that paper.  I added in my embellishments and then sealed it with a sheet of acetate.

Next, I put my traveling toads on some stamp shapes that I had cut out with some dies in my stash.  I used the green plaid and the sky background paper.  Once those were assembled, I glued them on top of my acetate leaving room for the sentiment which is from the same stamp collection.

To tie everything together, I trimmed out the card with a frame cut from the blue polka dot paper.

For this card, I colored all my little friends and their travel icons with Copic markers in the following colors:

  • YG23, YG17, G07
  • B21, B23, B45
  • R14, R17, R29
To finish up this card, I applied it to a card base.  The card base is a piece of white cardstock cut to 5.5" x 8.5" scored at 4.25" and folded in half.

I didn't put sentiment inside the card because I think this would make a great note card!  What do you think?

I am linking a process video down below if you want more precise details.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you have a "Toad Trip" in your future.
