Sledding Party

Hello!  This is the last card for this year.  It has been such a fun and creative year and I am definitely looking forward to creating in the new year.

Today I have a shaker card that I created with the new Hello Bluebird Sledding Party Stamp and Coordinating Die Set.  I also used their older Downhill Vertical Scene which is just such a great background to highlight these fun friends.

When I make shaker cards, I prefer to use multiple layers of cardstock to create the wells for my little embellishments.  I used 6 layers of 100 lb cardstock for this card.  For this inside of the wells, I used a patterned paper for the sky and the same textured paper that I used for the the snowy hills.  The little shaker bits are from JoAnns when they were open.

Once I had my card sealed up with acetate, I trimmed it out with a dark green cardstock.  I used the textured cardstock for my mountain snow and a very light gray for the mountains.

I used Copic markers for my sledding friends in the following colo

  • Fox - YR30, E30, YR23, YR24, YR27
  • Raccoon - W00, W0, T0, T2, T5, T7
  • Bunny - E40, E41, E42, E43
  • Blue Scarf - B21, B34, B45
  • Lavender Scarf - BV01, BV31, BV23
  • Teal Scarf - BG72, BG18, BG75
  • Sled Base - E08, E19, E09
  • Sled Runners - C0, C1, C2
  • Trees - BG93, G99, BG99

I found that once I had my sleds attached to the card, it difintely needed a little more.  I colored in a number of stamped trees and then trimmed them to follow the hill lines to add a little more interest and fill in the blank areas.  I had thought about adding some snowflakes, but was a little worried it would cover up too much of the shaker areas.

The sentiments are included with the stamp sets.  I stamped them with Versafine Ink and trimmed them.

I think this card turned out super cute and would actually work for a winter themed card in addition to a Christmas card.

Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope you have an amazing New Year!

Hello Bluebird Post Office Square Scene

Hello friends!  I had the best time over the Christmas holiday making this card.  I used the new Hello Bluebird Post Office Square Scene Die Set and Merry Mail Stamp Set with the coordinating dies.

I really like that this background die set cut out so many different elements; it really makes it easy to change up the colors and textures of the scene.

I did a little creative masking to place a cobblestone walkway in front of the Post office.  I added shading with Distress Oxide Inks and Copic markers to create dimension on the individual pieces.

My images were colored in with Copic markers in the following colors:

  • Bunny - E40, E41, E42
  • Hedgehog - E50, E53, E34, E25, E27
  • Mouse - E30, E31, E33, E37
  • Squirrel - YR30, YR23, YR24, YR27
  • Greens- G21, YG63, G94
  • Reds - R14, R27, R39
  • Blues - B21, B23, B45
  • Yellows - Y00, Y13, Y18
  • Inner Ears/Cheeks - R00, R20, R21
  • Packages - E41, E43, E44

I did a process video on YouTube if you would like to see more details on how this card was created.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope that you have an amazing New Year!

Hello Valentine!

Hello friends!!!  Happy almost New Year!  I am still playing with the latest releases from Hello Bluebird, but rather than do a Christmas/Winter card, I decided to use this little sweetheart from the Merry Mail Stamp Set,  to make a Valentines Day Card.

To start this card, I placed my coloring cardstock in my Misti.  I used the second largest of the Lawn Fawn Postage Rectangle Stackables to make sure that I was able to place my stamps to that they fit within the borders of the die.  Once I had them stamped, I masked them off using Eclipse Art Masking Tape.  I used the die it out and then adhered it to my glass mat usinging removable tape.

I used the masking set that coordinates with the Postage Rectangle die.  I used mint tape to hold it to my surface and to mask off  the ground.  I used Spun Sugar, Kitsch Flamingo and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide Ink for the sky and Shabby Shutters and Rustic Wilderness for the ground.

I used the one of the Falling Hearts Lawn Fawn Stencil to place them in the sky with Yeti Pigment Ink.  I also used a little Spellbinders Splatter Effects Sparkle to add a little bling.  Once the splatter was dry, I peeled off my masking.

I used Copic markers in the following colors to color in my little friend:

  • Mailbox - N0, N1, N2, N3, N4
  • Fox - YR30, E30, YR23, YR24, YR27
  • Jacket - BV000, BV00, BV11
  • Scarf - YR000, YR01, YR02
  • Ground Shadows - G82, G24
  • Red - R27

The sentiment is from the stamp set.  I stamped it on white cardstock and the trimmed it down.  I cut rectangles at 5.5" x 4.25" and 5.25" x 4.0" from patterned paper and layered them together.  I placed my inked, colored and stamped image at an angle to add a little interest to my card front.

Once I had everything together, it felt like my lower corner was a little bare, so I used the Sweet November Year Round Postmarks to add a Post Mark to the bottom of my card to tie it all together.

For just a little more bling, I used Trinity Stamps Ocean Jellyfish Confetti Mix to add a little something something to the corners.

If you would like a more detailed description on the creation of this card, you can follow along with the process on my YouTube Channel.  I will link it down below.

Thank you so much for following along today.  Create a smile, one card at a time!

Woodland Postage Stamps

Hello!  Today, I have a card that I made using the Hello Bluebird Woodland Post Stamp from their latest release.  I also used the Santa Postage Die which was from their Christmas release.  This card wouldn't necessarily need to be for Christmas, I think it would work well for a fun Winter themed card.  Or you could substitute the snowflakes for hearts and may change up the colors a little bit and it would be a great Valentines Day Card.

In addition to the Woodland Post Stamp, I used the a few images from the Merry Mail Stamp Set.  I did just a tiny bit of masking for a couple of the stamps and used the individual snowflakes to fill in the backgrounds a little bit.

I used Copic colors in the following colors:

  • Mouse Body, Sign, Packages- E41, E43, E44, R20, R22
  • Bear Body - E41, E53, YR23, E57, E37, E59
  • Bear Sweater & Hat - E51, E53
  • Reds- R24, R29, R39
  • Greens - YG67, YG99, BG99
  • Stamp Background - C00, C0, C1, C2, C3

I snapped a picture after I colored in the backgrounds of each individual stamps and I think that this would also make an amazing black and white card if you just added a little shading to all the images.  The red cardstock really makes the gray pop, don't you think?

Thank you so much for stopping by today.

Happy Pawlidays!

Hello and Happy Pawlidays!!!   Today my card is Door #22 on Gerda Steiners 2025 Advent Calendar.

I love "punny" cards and puppy cards, so this was a perfect project. For my puppies, I used Gerda's Christmas Puppies.  For my "punny", I used the Trinity Stamps Sundae Swirl Alphabet Die Set.

I did a little bit of creative masking to get my little friends placed on my cardstock.  I then inked in my background using Tumbled Glass, Mermaid Lagoon and Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide Ink.  I splattered both water and watered down white acrylic paint to add a little depth and interest to the inked background.

I used Copic markers in the following colors to color in my little friends;

  • Puppies - YR30, YR31, YR23, YR24, YR27
  • Hats/Ribbons - R14, R29, R39
  • Fur Highlights - B0000, B000
  • Yellow - Y00, Y06, Y19
  • Light Green - YG01, YG05, G14
  • Dark Green - G02, G09, G19

To finish up my card, I glued on the sentiment and then added a few snowflakes cut from a white sparkle cardstock.

This little card turned out so darn cute, don't you think?

#298 - Craft Roulette Snow Stacks by Trinity Stamps

Hello and Merry Christmas Friends!  This is my entry for the current Craft Roulette Challenge - #298.  If there ever was a stamp that was perfect for a challenge, it is this one by Trinity Stamps called Snow Stacks.

This weeks parameters are:

  • Project - A6
  • Element - Rhymes with "acks".
  • Colors: Gummy Bears
  • Random - Tearing

For the background on this card, I used Distress Oxide Inks in Tumbled Glass, Broken China and Mermaid Lagoon.  For the ground area at the bottom of the card, I masked off about and inch from the bottom before I did my inking.  Once that was dry, I used the Trinity Stamps Snowfall Stencil with white pigment ink to create light snowflakes.

For the "tearing" element, I used a deckle edge die to cut out omy background.  I used the enclosed sentiment and snowflakes to decorate my trimmed background.  I heat embossed the snowflakes with white embossing powder and inked the sentiment with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink.

To color in my snowman stack, I used Copic markers in the following colors:

  • B00, BV31 - Snowmen Bodies
  • R14, R24, R29 - Reds
  • Y00, Y02, Y08 - Yellows
  • YG13, YG06, YG17 - Greens
  • RV21, RV04, RV06, RV17 - Pink
  • C1, C3, C5 - Gray
  • Y23, Y17, YR18 - Orange
  • B00, B02, BG05 - Blue
I used the Snow Stack Coordinating die to cut out my colored image.  I did fill in the voids and outside edges with markers to help it blend into the background.  I don't usually do this, but I really felt like there was enough open area that it would make a difference. I used 1 mm. foam squares to pop up my stack to give my card a little dimension.

I glued my inked background with the image on the upper part of my pink background paper cut to the A6 size, which is 6.5" x 4.25.  I added a little bit of twine with a bow at the bottom to balance everything out.

For the inside of the card, I used one of the sentiments to finish it up.

I am so happy that the wheel gave me such clear parameters this week - it was a quick card to put together.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you are having a lovely holiday season.

Merry Christmas From The Cogdills

Hello!  Today, I goofed around with a newer Lawn Fawn stamp set that came out earlier in the fall and I just knew that I would have to make at lease one Christmas card that was a play on my last name.  It's a little dorky but I love it and can't wait to send it to a friend that will get a chuckle also.

To create the background for the card, I inked white cardstock with Tumbled Glass, Mermaid Lagoon, and Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide Ink.  Once the ink was dry, I used the Snowflake Stencil and Yeti Ink to place some snowflakes.

The stamps set that I used for this card is the How You Bean? Pickle Add On.  The Merry Christmas sentiment is cut from green glitter paper and red satin paper using the the Giant Merry Christmas Die.  The "Cogdills" was cut from two different colored green glitter paper using Henry's ABC's Die set.

Once I had the sentiment, lettering and pickles placed, I added a few snowflakes from Pixie Dust Sparkle cardstock, cut with the Magic Iris Snow Globe Add On Die.

Thanks for entertaining my dorkiness today and I hope you are having a wonderful holiday season.

#296 - Craft Roulette Challenge - Lawn Fawn's Plant A Succulent

Hello!  Oh my, I just barely made it in time to submit this week's Craft Roulette Challenge #296. Phew!  These holidays are so darn busy.  I created this card with some succulents from Lawn Fawn and a huge hello sentiment from Trinity Stamps.

The parameters this week are:

  • Project: A2
  • Colors: Fresh & Clean
  • Element: From the Desert
  • Random: Distressed Edge

The succulent plant is Plant A Succulent from Lawn Fawn. The sentiment is Simply Sentimental: Hello from Trinity Stamps.  Their Simply Sentimental Series is always my go to because they not only have a die cut but all kinds of little sayings that go with it.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have an amazing day!

Stitched Whiskers by Crafty Stamp Co

Hello friends!  Today I have a card that I created from the Stitched Whiskers stamp set that is included the January Crafty Crew Kit.  This kit has been such fun for me to play with, since I also love to sew in addition to making cards.  The kit is available for pre-order until December 15th.  It is scheduled to ship on January 5th.

In addition to the cute little cats in the stamp set, it has some really great sentiments that ties the whole set together.  Also, if you are a monthly subscriber, you get the bonus pink flower buttons that add such a cute touch to the theme.

These little friends are colored with Copic markers in the following colors;

  • N1, N3, N5
  • BG70, BG72
  • RV11, 81, RV83
Once I had the kittens colored, I glued them to squares cut from the patterned paper included in the kit. I was hoping to create the illusion of patches. I glued the "patches" on another piece of paper from the collection. The patterned paper collection is called Lovely As A Rose.

I included a sentiment that went well this the patch theme.  I also sewed a few buttons in the top corner for a fun little touch.

Linked below is a process YouTube video I created that show the process if you would like to follow along.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Time For A Snowball Fight!

Hello again!  Today I have a card using digi stamps by Sweet November.  I absolutely love the flexibility of digi stamps.  I can make the computer do all the hard work of masking for me.  The recent release, Joyful Gatherings was available for a limited time as digi stamps, so I am so glad that I purchased it while it was available.  The kids on this card are from the Snow Days Stamp Set and the tree is the Forest Stump and Hollow Log Digi Set. My log is not hollow because my little friends definitely needed something strong to hide behind.

I used my software program to draw in light lines to help me with the snow drift placement and the horizon.  I am still not very confident with my blending on big areas like the sky, so I did decide to mask off the bottom of the card and then used the Copic Airbrush System to put my sky in.

You might be wondering how I was able to mask my scene off since I had manipulated and resized my images. I printed off the image on plain copier paper and then covered it with a piece of Eclipse Art Masking Tape and ran it through the printer again.  ** A huge shout out to Amy Young for the tip on this masking tape.  It is a game changer - I love it.

I used Copic markers in the following colors:

  • Hair - E53, E55, E57
  • Skin - E000, E11, E04, R20
  • Yellow - Y00, Y06, Y19
  • Orange - Y32, YR15, YR04
  • Green - YG00, YG23, YG25
  • Aqua - BG11, BG15, BG49
  • Blue - B21, B34, B37
  • Pink - RV23, RV25, RV29
  • Log - E81, E42, E43, E44, E53, E59
  • Dog - YR30, YR23, YR24, YR27
  • Snow - BV31
  • Sky - B000, B00, B01

This card turned out so cute!  I like that it could be used with a number of different sentiments.  I think it would be an adorable birthday card for a fun little friend.  What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you have an amazing day!

Off Duty Santa by Sweet November Stamps

Hello!!  Oh my goodness....doesn't Santa look not only well rested but quite dapper?

I created this card by combining digi stamps by Sweet November Stamps.  The stamps that I combined are; Off Duty Santa, Reindeer Games (gate/fence) and North Pole Friends (trees).

I used Copic markers in the following colors:

  • E000, E11, E04, R20 - Santa Face
  • E40, BV31 - Beard
  • G20, TG41, G05, G07 - Sweater
  • R46, R59, RV69 - Pants & Pillow
  • E71, E74, E77, E04, E93 - Sleeping Deer
  • E44, E49 - Antlers
  • E31, E33, E43, E57 - Fence & Gate
  • E30, E31, E33 - Sign
  • G43, YG63, G94 - Trees
  • B0000, B000, B00 - Sky
  • 100, C9, C6 - Boots, Hooves, Deer Nose

I had some older Lawn Fawn paper from their Knit Picky Collection, that I thought would work perfectly for this card.  I had really wanted to do Santa's sweated in more neutral tones, but I was afraid it wouldn't work well with my paper, so I will save that for another card.

I am pretty sure that this card will be my favorite for the year.  I just love this Santa!!!

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you are having a nice holiday season.

Stitched With Love Meadow

Hi there friends!  Today I have another card that I created with the fabulous Meadow stamp set that will be in the January Crafty Crew Kit.  This kit is taking pre-orders until December 15th, with the kits being shipped on January 5th.  What a great way to start the new year making cards.

This adorable stamp set called Stitch With Love Meadow.  This stamp set has a sewing theme which was right up my alley since I like to sew also.

The coloring on this card was done with Copic markers in the following colors:

  • N1, N3, N5
  • BG70, BG72
  • RV11, 81, RV83
  • E000, E00, E11 - Skin
  • E53, E13, E15, E37 - Hair
  • YR30, E41, E50 - Patchwork Bear

The quilt behind her was cut using an old die cut.  I used patterned paper that is included in the January Crafty Crew Kit. I is called Lovely As A Rose.  That paper pack is really pretty with all kinds of florals in pinks.  Although you can barely see it, the yellow background was created using the included Quilted Stencil.

I used a sentiment that is included with the Stitched Whiskers stamp collection, which is also included in the Crafty Crew Kit.  I though it was just perfect to tie the whole card together.

If you would like to follow along in the process of making this card, I have my YouTube video linked at the bottom of this post.

This turned out to be such a cute card!  I can't wait to send it to one of my quilting friends.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have an incredible day!

Merry Christmas Santa!

Hello!  Today I have a quick post.  Trinity Stamps released this adorable Tiny Santa Die Set earlier this fall.  I spent an afternoon making a bunch of Santas planning on making this card and finally got to putting it together the other day.

For the background, I glued the full Stana bodies and some Santa Heads on a piece of green cardstock but to 4.0" x 5.25".

For the sentiment, I used the new Large Christmas Sentiment Die Set.  I popped it up with a 2mm foam tape to give my  card a little dimension.

I really like the way this card turned out.  When Trinity release the Tiny Santa, they also release a Tiny Christmas Tree, Tiny Elf and Tiny Snowman.  You could make this card with any or all of these cute little dies.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you are having a fun holiday season!

Three Kings Snow Globe

Hello!  It seems like I have been on snow globe shaker cards kick this season.  This on may be the last one for awhile.  I made this with some of the leftover images I had colored using the Gnometivity Stamp Set by Trinity Stamps.

I used the Snowglobe Shaped Card Die for this card.  I cut the cardbase from a dark blue cardstock.  I cut another cardbase from white cardstock.  I cut the right side of the cardbase off and glued it to the inside of the card.  I stamped a sentiment that is included in the card on the inside.

To create the shaker well, I cut 8 pieces of the snowglobe and glued them together.  I glued them to the front of the card.  I inked one of the inside snow globe pieces with Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and glued it inside the globe. I also used the included die to cut out the ground for the gnomes to stand on.  I inked that with Tea Dye and Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink.  Then I glued my little friends inside before I filled it with Transparent Jewel Tone Shaker Pops.  These are some of my favorite fillers because they sound so cool when they move in the card.

I colored my friends with Copic markers in the following colors:
  • V05, V06, V25 - Violets
  • B00, B02, B04 - Blues
  • BG11, BG13, BG09 - Teal
  • E23, E27, E37 - Mittens and Shoes
  • Y13, Y15, Y17 - Yellows
Once I had my images placed and the embellishments added, I sealed it up with a piece of acetate cut in a circle the same circumference as the snow globe.

I cut my top snow globe from a white shimmer paper.  I cut the base from a piece of light brown woodgrain cardstock.  I cut another base from blue cardstock and trimmed off the top and the bottom.

I heat embossed the included sentiment on the blue cardstock using gold embossing powder.

I love this little card so much!  I may keep it just for this year.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a Merry Christmas.

For Unto Us A Child Is Born

Hello friends and Happy Holidays!  Today I have a sweet Nativity Scene featuring my favorite Gnomes from Trinity Stamps.  There are so many little friends between the Gnometivity and Glad Tidings Stamp Sets, that I needed to make an A7 card.  I don't make very many of those because they have so much area to cover.  However, I colored all the friends, but wasn't able to fit the Three Kings in the scene, so let's pretend they are still following the star.

For the background on this card, I used Tea Dye and Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink for the ground and Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink for the sky.  I spattered the sky with a little Metallic Silver Watercolor.

My friends are all colored with Copic markers in the following colors:

  • B01, B24, B25, E41, E42 - Mary
  • B000, B00, B01, E41, E42, Y11 - Baby Jesus
  • YG03, G94, Y21, Y23, Y24 - Joseph
  • R02, R24, R29, Y21, Y23, YR21 - Shepard
  • E23, E27, E37 - Shoes, Mittens, Camel
  • E00, E11 - Gnome Noses
  • C00, C0, C1 - Beards
  • C1, C3, C5 - Donkey
  • E97, E99, E08, E09 - Stable
I used a sentiment that is included in the stamp set.  I heat embossed it with black embossing powder.

This is just the perfect card for one of my family members, I can't wait to send it to them.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you are enjoying a lovely holiday season.

Happy New Year Meadow

What are you doing New Years Eve?  It looks like Meadow has plans to ring in the new year by seeing the ball drop.   I think this is the cutest Meadow yet!  I love her outfit, but her sassy short hair is just the best!  This stamp set is by Crafty Stamp Co. and it is called Happy New Year Meadow

I love to make interactive cards, so I made this one so that the ball would move.  I used the Trinity Stamps Die Emergency Card #3 to create the movement on this card.  I also hot foiled the background to add a little glitz.

I colored Meadow with Copic markers in the following colors:

  • BG10, BG02, BG18 - Eyes
  • E53, E33, E35, E37 - Hair
  • RV04, RV09, RV34, RV66 - Dress
  • E000, E00, E11, E21, R00, R20 - Skin
  • E50, Y21, Y15, Y26 - Ball

It's really hard to see in the photo, but I added in a few gold strands in her hair with a gel pen.  I just thought that added to the festive occasion.

For the sentiments and the "2026", I heat embossed them with silver embossing powder.

I usually only make one New Years Card a year, which is sad because it does get lost in the holiday rush.  I just love the way this card turned out.  It would make a really cute birthday card also.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are enjoying the holiday season!
