Pink Fresh's Ice Cream Truck

Hello my cardmaking friends!  Today I am up on the Scrapbook Pal blog.  Today I have just the cutest summer card using Pink Fresh Studio’s Ice Cream Truck.  It is a new release and it comes with a clear stamp set, coordinating dies and multi-layered stencil.  I decided to make it a shaker card using Dress My Craft Rainbow Cup Sequins.

For the background on this card, I used the Pink Fresh Diagonal Plaid Press Plate.  I used the Spellbinders Better Press Letter Press System.  I inked my plate with Pink Fresh Studio’s Ink in Peach Fuzz, Soft Lilac, Waterfall and Fresh Pear.  To create the plaid, I inked the plate diagonally switching colors and then ran it through my die cutter.  I then turned the plate a quarter turn, inked the plate and ran it through again. I cut it down to 4.0” x 5.25”.

To create the shaker part of my card, I cut the truck using the Ice Cream Truck Die Set six times from 110lb cardstock.  I glued the die cuts together.  This is my preferred way to create the wells on my shaker cards as opposed to using foam tape.  I also glued the little tire pieces that the die cut out along with the actual truck.  I decided to do this so that they would be the same height as the truck.

I cut the truck from a medium gray colored cardstock.  I lightly inked the edges with Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide Ink.  I also used the Ice Cream Truck Stencil with the same ink to add the little bumper and wheels on the truck.  I also used the stencil as a guideline to cut the windshield from the gray cardstock.  I did this by lightly tracing the windshield on the gray cardstock and then cut it out.  I inked the top layer of my shaker well with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink where the windshield would be.  I also inked a couple of window cut outs with Pink Fresh’s Ballet Slippers.

Once I had adhered the truck to the card, I inserted the windows in the openings and then sprinkled in my shaker elements and sealed it up with a piece of acetate.  I won’t adhere the gray cardstock truck until I have stamped the sentiment on it once I know where I will place my little bear.

I colored my images with Copic makers in the following colors:

Once they were colored, I used the die to cut them out.

I adhered the bear and the small ice cream cone to the truck.  Once I had those placed, I inked the sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and stamped it  on the ice cream truck body.  The sentiment is included in the stamp set.

To finish up my card, I adhered it to a piece of turquoise cardstock cut to 4.25” x 5.5”.  I felt like it needed a little bling, so I randomly glued on some sequins and touched up the ice cream cones with Stardust Stickles Glitter Glue.

I really like how colorful this card turned out and I hope you have enjoyed following along with the process.

Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today and remember that all the supplies used to create this card are available at Scrapbook Pal.

Let's Just Go Capy-ing!

Hi Friends!  I hope everyone is enjoying their summer!  These Capybaras by Lawn Fawn are on a family camping trip like so many of us enjoying the great outdoors.

This card was built on a 5.5" x 4.25" piece of cardstock.  I used the Cloudy Stencil with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink on the upper part of the cardstock.

I cut the mountain range from Candy Bar cardstock using the Stitched Mountain Borders.   I lightly dusted the edges with a little Ground Espresso Distress Oxide Ink.

I used the Simple Stitched Hillside Border to cut out my ground from Algae cardstock.  I lightly dusted those edges with Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide Ink.

I wanted to have a little stream running by my campsite, so I used the river that is cut out from the new Riverside Backdrop: Portrait.  I inked that with Tumbled Glass and Faded Jeans Distress Oxide Inks.

I used the Build A Campsite Die along with scrap cardstock to create my campsite.

The capybaras are stamped using the Capybaras! and Capybaras! Add on set.  I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.  They were all colored using Copic markers in the following colors:

  • E30, E31, E33, E42, E43, E44
  • C1, C3
  • G03, G07, YG45

For the letters for the "Capy-ing" are cut from Finley's ABC's.  I combined words from Henry's Build A Sentiment - Birthday and Love.  The sentiment at the bottom of the card is from Car Critters Road Trip Add On.

It sure looks like this Capybaras family is just having the best time!

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you have an adventure of your own this summer!
