Hello! Today I have the perfect birthday card for that old school arcade game player. Trinity Stamps has a fun new release that is perfect for a gamer.
I also really like the new 8-Bit Birthday Stamp and CoordinatingDie Set, so I put this card on a slimline base so I could use it as part of the sentiment on the outside of the card.
I used the 8-Bit Birthday Stamp Set for the inside of the card. I love how the stamp set gives you so many ways to create the perfect sentiment. This is the perfect sentiment for the person I have in mind for this card.
I love the way this card turned out and I am sure that I will be using it on future cards - it is perfect for so many people in my card list!
Hello! It seems that I am getting in the mood for a trip to the beach! This colorful shaker card was created with a couple of newer Trinity Stamps products and a couple of their older ones. I got the idea to create this little treat shop while I was making a card with both the new A-2 Window Box Card Die Cut and the Gashapon Machine Die Cut.
Hello! This is my final card featuring Meadow from the Crafty Crew Kit by Crafty Stamp Co.
This has been such a fun set to play with. Pre-orders end on April 15th, so jump on over to the Crafty Stamp Co. shop and get your order put it. Shipping is scheduled for May 5 - just in time for the summer travel season.
I used my favorite pattern from the patterned paper collection in this kit. I used the stencil, which also comes in the kit with some Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink. I also used the left over ink in my blending brush to dust my edges. I also watered down some ink to spatter on my paper to add a little dimension and interest.
I colored Meadow with Copic Markers in the following colors:
E00, E11, E33 - skin
E50, E51, E53 - hair
R20, R21, R22 - skirt
B000, B41, B52 - shorts & top shading
YG61, G82, G24 - scooter
C2, C3, C4 - seat and headlight
T1, T3, T5 - tires
For the sentiment, I used one from the stamp set. I stamped the flowers at the front and back of the sentiment and fussy cut the piece.
I popped up Meadow and the sentiment on foam dots to give the card some extra dimension.
To add a little extra to the upper left corner, I gathered a piece of the white organza ribbon that comes in the Monthly Subscriber Kit and anchored it to a pink button, which was included in the January Monthly Subscriber Kit.
Once my card front was finished, I attached it to a card base. The card base was created by cutting a piece of white cardstock to 5/5" x 8.5" and scoring it at 4.25" and then folding it.
I think that this makes a very lovely notecard. What do you think?
I have attached a link at the bottom of this post if you would like to follow along in the process.
Thank you for stopping by today and I hope that you have a few trips planned for this summer!
Hello! Today I have a card to share with you based on the current Craft Roulette Challenge. I haven't played for a few weeks but I took an afternoon to see what the wheel had in store for this challenge. I have to say that this card didn't pull together in my head right away, but as I was looking through my stash it started coming together.
Parameters:
PROJECT: Zoyfold
COLORS: Easter Egg
ELEMENTS: Seal(s)(ing)
RANDOM: 4-Squares
I was pretty sure that a walrus was part of the seal family but confirmed it with my friend Siri. The walrus and sentiment are a Catherine Pooler Stamp Set called Aw Shucks! I have had this stamp for a couple of years buy haven't used it. I didn't have the die, so I fussy cut it after I colored it. The anchors are from a Lawn Fawn Stamp Set called, Smooth Sailing.
I never thought that I would be using these colors for this stamp set but the wheel was in charge, so I went with softer colors that you might find on Easter Eggs.
I am really happy with the way this card turned out.
Hello! It is just a bout time for a road trip - or did I mean Toad Trip? Today I have a card that I created with a new stamp set that is included in the May Crafty Crew Kit by Crafty Stamp Co. This is such a fun kit to start the traveling season! Jump on over to their website to pre-order this kit. The pre-order window closes on April 15th!
Also, the patterned paper in this kit is absolutely adorable. I loved every print - so much that I didn't want to use it and just put it in my stash to look at and pet later. But........ I wound up using quite a bit of it for a few different travel themed cards. Now, I can't give the cards away ... just kidding.
Since I was using several different prints, I felt like I needed to separate the layers a little, so I decided to make this a shaker card. Once I built my well on the cute paper with the clouds and airplanes, I adhered the travel accessories on top of that paper. I added in my embellishments and then sealed it with a sheet of acetate.
Next, I put my traveling toads on some stamp shapes that I had cut out with some dies in my stash. I used the green plaid and the sky background paper. Once those were assembled, I glued them on top of my acetate leaving room for the sentiment which is from the same stamp collection.
To tie everything together, I trimmed out the card with a frame cut from the blue polka dot paper.
For this card, I colored all my little friends and their travel icons with Copic markers in the following colors:
YG23, YG17, G07
B21, B23, B45
R14, R17, R29
To finish up this card, I applied it to a card base. The card base is a piece of white cardstock cut to 5.5" x 8.5" scored at 4.25" and folded in half.
I didn't put sentiment inside the card because I think this would make a great note card! What do you think?
I am linking a process video down below if you want more precise details.
Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you have a "Toad Trip" in your future.
Part of the fun of making cards is making them for special occasions or people. This card celebrates getting a new fur-iend. I used a few dies from Emily Moore Designs and it couldn't have been easier or quicker.
The products that I used for this card are:
Decorative Sentiments Die Set
Yay Layered Word Die
All The Happy Things Stamp Set
I love that with Emily's dies, all you need are a few sheets of coordinating paper and you have a unique card. I definitely keep the Decorative Sentiments Die right next to my desk.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have an amazing day!!!!
Today I have a blast from the past for sure! The new Trinity Stamps release has put playing with paper on a whole new level. This card reminds me of days where my husband and I played Ms. Pacman for hours. Of course, I never beat him, but I sure did give it a try.
These dies, create the neatest dimensional card that is sure to put a smile on the recipient's face. I know I had a smile when I was making it. I have a video up that I will link at the bottom of this post, if you would like to see the process.
To start this card, I am using theA-2 Box Card Die Set. I have already foiled my cardstock using the Starfield Letterpress plate with silver glimmer foil. To make the box, you need to cut two pieces. The first piece is cut using the die without either of the window pieces inserted. The other piece is cut with the center window in the opening. I use a thin mint tape to hold it in place while I use my die cutting machine to cut the pieces. Before you put that die away, make sure to cut two of the longer tab pieces; they will be used as a bridge inside the box later. I cut mine from the scrap left from cutting the box pieces.
The die places score lines on these pieces. Fold along the score lines towards the inside of the box.
I use a thin double-sided tape on the tab pieces on the side of the box panel die cut pieces. I also apply double sided adhesive around the window openings.
I have used the new Arcade Machine Builder Die to cut the pieces to build my machine. For most of the pieces, I put double sided adhesive on the back of my cardstock before I cut them out - especially the real little pieces. Another thing I do, is peel the backing off the pieces and place them on a sheet of hear resistant Teflon. This allows me to organize my pieces without misplacing them. I currently have an obsession with matte metallic paper. For this project, I am using Encore Paper in Regal Purple, Turquoise, Periwinkle and Lilac. I love, love, love this stuff.
Once I have my pieces cut using the Arcade Machine Builder Die, place them on the A-2 Box Card Piece (that is the front of the box). It is much easier to work on these pieces before the box is constructed but don't worry, I'll get to that in a bit. Make sure to put a piece of acetate cut to 3.0" x 3.5" over the window opening.
I used the planets to hold up the sentiment. I've glued the sentiment between the two of the planets then glued the planets to thin strips of acetate. The thin acetate strips are what will hold the planets on the bridge tab to give them an appearance of floating.
The sentiment is from the new 8-Bit Birthday Stamp Set and Coordinating Die Set. I stamped, cut and heat embossed the sentiment for the inside of the box on a bright orange cardstock. While I have my supplies out, I also make stamp my sentiment for the back of the box.
To decorate the sides of the box, I use the new 8-Bit Alphabet Stamp Set and Coordinating Dies. I stamp a variety of gaming characters and symbols and heat emboss them. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out. I glued the sentiment on the back piece of the box and the little pieces on the sides of the box. I also glued a couple of colored planets on the back of the card to fill in some of the blank spaces.
I removed the protective tape from the tab edge of the back box piece and put a thin bead of glue over it. I placed the front of the box on top of the tab making sure to line up the top and the bottom. Make sure that you are placing the top piece up to the fold line and not over it. This will ensure that you have a nice corner.
I removed the tape from the end of the long tab piece and placed it right next to the fold line on the inside of the front panel of the card. I put these tabs at the top and bottom of the window.
Next, I attach the piece that has the planets and sentiment to the bridge piece so that it is looks like it is suspended in the window opening. I glue the little Martian in his flying saucer in the bottom left corner on that tab to also create dimension. To finish the inside of my screen, I glue one more little planet to the upper right side of the background.
Next, I removed the protective tape on the other side of my box and place a bead of glue over it. I press the edge of the box on the tab and seal up the box.
To finish up this scene, I remove the protective tape on the ends of each of the bridge pieces and press them up to the side of the box.
Is this not the absolutely the coolest card???? I just love the way it turned out.
I have tried my best to explain the construction of this card, but I do recommend you go to my YouTube video to see the process in action.
Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope you create a card to put a smile on someone's face today!
Hello there! Today, I have this fun card with the lovely Meadow from Crafty Stamp Co. This young lady that is out on an adventure and is a stamp set from the new Crafty Crew Kit. This stamp set is called Ciao Adventure. The pre-order window is open from April 1-15. Shipping is scheduled for May 5th.
For the background on this card, I used one of the adorable patterned papers included in the kit on a piece of blue cardstock that coordinates with the paper. Since this is a travel themed card, I shopped my stash and found a camera die cut to add to the background and tie it all together.
Meadow and her travel accessories have been colored with Copic markers in the following colors:
E30, E21, E33 - skin
T5, T7. 100 - hair
YG00, YG23, YG17, G07 - greens
C00, C2, C5, C7 - tires
RV42, R14, R17, R29 - reds
B21, B23, B45 - blues
Once she is colored, I popped her up on foam dots to add dimension to the card.
The sentiment is from the stamp set. I used a piece of scrap paper from the paper collection to trim it out.
I just love this stamp set - Meadow on her scooter just puts a smile on my face. I hope she makes you smile also!
Thank you for stopping by today. I am linking a YouTube process video if you would like to follow along.
Hello!!! I have been so excited to share some cards with the Trinity Stamps new release!!! This is one of the cards that I created with the new Gashapon Machine Die Set along with the new Stuffies Stamp Set and Coordinating dies. I decided to create a "baby themed" card with soft colors.
While the Gashapon Machine Die fits perfectly on the new A-2 Window Box Die, it also works great as a shaker card. The little shaker bits on the inside of this card are the Candy Cottage Confetti Mix.
I used the Stuffies Stamp Set along with the coordinating dies. I colored them with Copic markers in the following colors:
Hello! Today I have a card that I created with one of the new stamp sets by Crafty Stamp Co. This set called, Ciao Adventure, is only available in the May Crafty Crew Kit. The pre-order window is from April 1-15. Shipping is scheduled for May 5th.
This kit is travel themed and I love everything about it. It has two really cute stamp sets, Ciao Adventure and Toad Travel. The patterned paper is totally next level - all the prints are AMAZING! There is also a really fun stencil, and it all comes in a great zipper tote. Monthly subscribers also get a special embellishment.
I had so much fun coloring Meadow with black hair. I have always been intimidated by black hair, but I am thrilled with the way it turned out.
I am linking my unboxing video below. Make sure you check out all the fun things included with it.
Hi friends! Today I have a card that I made with a couple of the Make A Moth Die
Sets by Emily More Designs. These moths are definitely
speaking to my soul because I keep thinking about different ways to use them on
a card.
I have used two different die sets to make the moths on the
front of this card. I used Make A
Moth Set: Betty for the four “earthy” moths and the Make A Mot Set:
Lorelai for the bright moth in the center of the card. I made four Betty and 1 Lorelai.
I applied double
sided 4”x6” adhesive sheets to the back of the different colors of cardstock
that I am using for my moth friends.
This is my favorite way to adhere all these little pieces together. It is not only easier, but it is neater
especially when you are working on foil.
To help me get a more precise placement, I also use a little liquid glue,
which puts a barrier between the adhesive and the cardstock below, giving me a
little wiggle room to place the piece exactly where I want it.
I have used a 3D embossing folder from my stash to emboss a
piece of dark gray cardstock. I used the
rectangle die from the Card Sentiment Dies to cut out my background.
This is one of my favorite dies, because it not only has really nice stitching
detail on the outside edge, it cuts the paper at 5.25” x 4.0” which leave room
for a border. I almost always have a
border on all my cards, I think it is a clean finish that draws all the colors
together.
With my background cut out, I glued my bright pink moth in
the center of it and then placed my four other moths around her. I am not worried about their wings and antenna
hanging off the edge because I will be trimming them off anyway.
Once I have trimmed my moths, I will glue that piece to a
pink piece of cardstock cut to 5.5” x 4.25”
For the sentiment on this card, I used the All The Happy
Things Stamp Set to stamp out “so proud of you” and “you did great”. I used the banner die from the Card
Sentiment Dies set to cut them out. Then I glued them to the front of my
card.
To finish up this card, I attached it to a card base. To make the card base, I cut a piece of white
cardstock to 5.5” x 8.5”. I scored it at
4.25” and folded it in half. I also cut a piece of white cardstock to 5.25” x 4.0”
to glue on the inside back panel. I do
this to give a little weight to the back of my card since the front has so many
layers to it.
I think that is such a pretty card and could be used for a
number of different occasions depending on the sentiment you choose.
Thank you for spending a little time with me and I hope you
have been inspired to make a card guaranteed to put a smile on someone’s face.
Hello friends!!! I have a card to WOW! today. Trinity Stamps has released a couple of new dies that will knock your socks off especially if you love the arcade games. In addition to the dies, there are a couple of stamp sets that look like the old school font. Then of course there is a stamp set to make the little stuffies that fill the "claw" machine. GAME ON!
To build the box, I used theA-2 Window Box Card Die Set. I used the large die piece to cut out two pieces of cardstock. However, on the first piece that I cut out, I used the die with both windows attached with temporary tape. (see blow)
On the second piece, I removed the center window and left in the side window. (see below)
There is another die in the A-2 Window Box Card Die Set that cuts out a piece that goes inside the box for you to attach little elements to create the 3-D effect. I cut two of them from the scrap cardstock. One will go at the top of the window opening and the other one will go directly under the window.
The die puts two score lines in the piece. One is about an eighth of an inch from the outside edge, which will be the tab that will connect the two pieces together and the other score line is to create a corner of the box. I have found that the best way to make a sharp and precise corner is to gently fold it towards me to help break down the paper fibers and then fold it in the opposite direction. I used a really thin metal ruler next to the score line to help me with the initial fold. Then I used my bone folder to give my piece a good crease once I have it folded how I want it. (see below)
I took thin double-sided adhesive, about an eighth of an inch, and put it on the little tab piece and then on the right and left side openings of the windows. I used a little bit larger tape, about a quarter of an inch, at the top and bottom of the windows. I did this just to give the windows a little bit of a stronger hold.
I cut two pieces of acetate to 1.875” x 3.5” for the side windows and one piece of acetate at 3.0” X 3.5” for the center window. Once the protective tape is peeled off, I placed the acetate in the openings. It is very important that you make sure that the acetate isn’t preventing the card from folding at the fold lines. You may need to do a tiny bit of trimming especially on the side windows. (see below)
On the inside tab pieces, I folded them at the die created score lines and added a piece of double-sided adhesive to each end.
For the background inside the machine, I cut a piece of
white cardstock to 3.0” x 3.5”. To help
create my farm scene, I used a stamp from the We’ve Come For Cake Stamp Set. You want to make sure that you stamp it
so that it is where you want it to be when you look through the front window. I used my Misiti to help me get it lined up
correctly. (see below)
I used a variety of Copic makers to color in my
background. Once it was colored, I glued
it to the inside making sure that it is butted up to the fold and doesn’t
extend past the outside edge.
For the inside tab pieces, I folded them at the die created score lines and added a piece of double-sided adhesive to each end. I generally prefer
to use liquid glue for most of my cardmaking, however, this is one of the
times, where it make things so much easier by using the tape.
I peeled off the tape and adhere this piece to the side
window piece lining it up with the top of the card and the short edge right at
the long fold on that piece. (see below)
Now I can start decorating the A-2 Box Card with the pieces that the Gashapon Machine Die Setcreates. I applied double sided adhesive to the back of the cardstock that I am going to use. Rip and Stick sheets work well for this. Some of these pieces are so small, that it is really hard to glue and place them, even with tweezers, so that you don’t make a mess with the glue – having the adhesive makes it a whole lot easier.
Another thing that
I like to do is place the pieces on a piece of heat resistant Teflon once the
protective back is removed. This is
especially helpful when you are using the same die a number of times to cut
different colors of cardstock. I start with the window trim first.
I cut the larger frame for the front window using the die in the
Gashapon Machine Die Set. The thinner
frames have been cut using the window dies from the A-2 Window Box Die
Set.
Next, I want to get the game top placed to make sure that I
have enough room to decorate the bottom of the machine.
I placed the prize door and coin slot on the
card with a little bit of glue. The
wording on the prize door was created using the 8-Bit Birthday Stamp Setand
Coordinating Die Set. I heat embossed it
on black cardstock using white embossing powder. The “.25” is also part of the 8-Bit Birthday Stamp Set. I carefully stamped the lower
right corner of the coin slot piece. It
is always the little details that make these cards so special. (see below)
For the joystick, I cut the outline out of black cardstock
and then used the other die, that has the individual joystick pieces to cut out
yellow and red cardstock. The different
colors help to add whimsey to the project.
I used the 8-Bit Birthday Stamp Setagain to stamp
the “instructions” on the game panel and then I'll build my game button. I used two different colors to
create definition and detail.
To finish up the bottom of my card, I will trim and glue the fence pieces on the sides of the box.
To finish up the top of my box, I will build my awning. Again, I have used several different colors of cardstock to give it dimension.
My little friends are from the new Stuffies Stamp Set and
Coordinating Dies. Since this is a
little farm, I stamped, colored and cut the Cow, Pig, Sheep, and Chicken. I think I made 4 of each animal. For the little clump of stuffies that will go
on the inside of the right side of the machine, I piled them up and glued them
together. I glued the pile of stuffies on the bottom tab over to the right side of the machine.
To help create depth, I glued a few of my friends so that
they are up against the window of the machine.
Once I attached the claw to my cow, I wanted to fortify
it a little bit, so I added a little piece of acetate to help hold it up on the
top tab.
I attached the piece of acetate along with wire and
the box to the top of the tab.
With both of the tabs decorated, I can close the box. I placed a very thin bead
of glue to the tab piece of each large machine piece and glued them together
paying close attention to lining up the top and bottom and going right up to
the fold. I did that on both
sides. You may have to reach in the box
to make sure the side is completely adhered.
Now for the tricky part – I need to attach the ends of the
tabs to the inside of the box. I peeled off the tape, added a little glue to the tab and then reached in and glued it
to the side of the box. It was too
difficult to try to add glue to the bottom tab, so I just relied on the
adhesive tape to hold it in place. You
can also collapse the box and give those spots a good press.
Since the box is the actual card, I cut a piece of white
cardstock 2.75” x 5.25” and stamped a sentiment on it. I glued this on the back of the box so that
the person giving the card can sign it.
I also had a few little friends left over, so I added them to the sides
and the bottom of the box.
This was a really long post but there are a lot of steps in making this card, but it is so worth it. There are so many ways you can do this card. I will be posting more cards to this blog, and I will have some more YouTube videos because I just love the way this card turns out.
Thank you for stopping by today. I hope this has been somewhat helpful in making this card. My YouTube video makes is really easy to follow along if you want to check it out.
