Hello! Happy Superbowl Sunday. If you were rooting for a team, I hope they won!
Today, I have a really cool light up card made with the Petite Prehistoric Pal from Trinity Stamps.
For the background on this card, I inked a piece of white cardstock with Mustard Seed, Ripe Persimmon, and Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide Ink. I spritzed it with a little water, and then spattered some metallic silver watercolor.
For the volcanos, I used the Stitched Mountain Borders from Lawn Fawn. I cut my mountains from white cardstock and then inked them with Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Ink. To give them a little definition, I used a small blending brush and inked in some crevices with Villainous Potion Distress Oxide Ink. The mountain tops, or lava are cut from Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide Inked cardstock. To make the volcano, I created my snow topped mountains and then cut the tops off to make them lava dripping volcanos.
For the foreground, I cut three different colors of green cardstock using the Trinity Stamps Layered Lawn Die. I didn't stamp it using the coordinating stamp because I just wanted the grassy shapes. I touched up the cut edges with Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide Ink to soften the edges.
For the sentiment, I heat embossed one from the new T-riffic stamp collection on the background. The "happy" is from the Simply Sentimental: Happy die. The "birthday" was heat embossed using the Simply Sentiment stamp set from Lawn Fawn. I also heat embossed the "push me" with a stamp from Lawn Fawn's Push Here stamp set.
Once I had my grassy foreground adhered to the volcano range, I placed a few dinosaurs from the Petite Prehistoric Pal die cut set. I cut them from black cardstock.
I used a Pear Blossom Ez Light three light set to make the lava in my volcanos glow. How fun is that? To add a little more lava excitement and fill in some of the open areas, I glued on a few Orange Sparkle Spots.
I couldn't be happier with the way this card turned out.
I hope you have found a little inspiration from this card or sparked a few other ideas. Thanks for dropping by.
Sandy
