Hello there! Today I have a fun Halloween Shaker Card made with Trinity Stamps Hoot Hoot Hooray Stamp Set. I couldn't wait to use this little guy in a Halloween card and I thought that putting him in a snow globe would be perfect!
For the inside of the snow globe, I stamped the little owl on a branch from the Hoot Hoot Hooray Stamp Set and then used the Coordinating Mask to cover it while I did a little inking.
I laid in the ground using a hillside stencil along with Twisted Citron Distress Oxide Ink. I dusted the edges of the ground with a little Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide Ink.
While using the stencil now as a mask, I inked the upper part with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink. I dusted the edges with Prize Ribbon Distress Oxide Ink to give it a little dimension.
With the inking done, I put the piece back in my Misty and started to add some stamping to build the scene a little more. I used the Spooky Silhouettes Stamp Set with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.
Once I peeled away the mask on the owl, I colored in the little guy with Copic markers in the following colors:
E30,
YR23, Y26, YR27 - Owl Body
YR14,
YR16 - Beak & Claws
E23,
E27, E59 - Tree Branch
G29
Isn't he adorable???
I built the "well" for the shaker elements by cutting out six snow globes out of cardstock and gluing them all together. I used white cardstock but as I was making the card, I decided that black would have been better, so I used a black marker to color the edges and changed the front of the snow globe to black. (If you want to take a tour on my struggle bus, you can watch me in action on my YouTube video linked below.)
I glued the inside of the snow globe on a piece of orange cardstock cut to 4.0" x 5.25 that has the edges dusted with Crackling Campfire Distress Oxide Ink. I sprinkled the shaker pieces in the center of that piece and then adhered the constructed snow globe piece over the inked center piece.
I added a purple cardstock globe base to the bottom of the globe. I dusted the die cut piece with a little Villainous Potion Distress Oxide Ink.
I used the Halloween Sentiments Die to cut out the sentiment from colored cardstock and then adhered the finished piece at the bottom of the card.
For the sentiment on the inside of the card, I used the Simply Sentimental: Halloween stamp set.
I think that this is just the perfect card for a younger person - its not too spooky, just sweet!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!
