Look Whoo's Turning Two!

Hello!  Today I got a chance to play with a few of the new goodies released by Trinity Stamps this week.  I love this little owl and all the little sentiments included in the Hoot Hoot Hooray Stamp and Coordinating Die set.  I also used the You Take The Cake Die Set to help me set this scene.

I used the Halftone Texture Stencil with Saltwater Taffy Distress Oxide Ink on white cardstock to create a patterned paper.  I had originally planned on using this as my card background, but I wasn't feeling it, so I used it to cut out the frosting on my piece of cake.

I then inked white cardstock with Dried Marigold Distress Oxide Ink and the Stars and Sprinkles Stencil, to create the actual background on this card.  I only used one layer from the stencil, because I didn't want my background to be too busy because my frosting was busy enough.  I used some White Sparkle Spots to add a little bit a sparkle to the background.

I used a white shimmer cardstock for the frosting dollops on the cake.  For the number "2", I used the Number Candles Stamp and Coordinating Dies.  The fork was cut from a matte metallic silver cardstock using the ford die from the Alphabet Soup Die.

I used Copic markers to color my little friend in the following colors:

  • BG000, BG01, BG02
  • E41, E42, YR27, E47
  • YR01, YR02

This would also be an adorable card with the candles that come with the You Take the Cake Die, of course, you would have to change the sentiment.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Sandy
