Hello! Today I got a chance to play with a few of the new goodies released by Trinity Stamps this week. I love this little owl and all the little sentiments included in the Hoot Hoot Hooray Stamp and Coordinating Die set. I also used the You Take The Cake Die Set to help me set this scene.
I used the Halftone Texture Stencil with Saltwater Taffy Distress Oxide Ink on white cardstock to create a patterned paper. I had originally planned on using this as my card background, but I wasn't feeling it, so I used it to cut out the frosting on my piece of cake.
I then inked white cardstock with Dried Marigold Distress Oxide Ink and the Stars and Sprinkles Stencil, to create the actual background on this card. I only used one layer from the stencil, because I didn't want my background to be too busy because my frosting was busy enough. I used some White Sparkle Spots to add a little bit a sparkle to the background.I used a white shimmer cardstock for the frosting dollops on the cake. For the number "2", I used the Number Candles Stamp and Coordinating Dies. The fork was cut from a matte metallic silver cardstock using the ford die from the Alphabet Soup Die.
