Sledding Party

Hello!  This is the last card for this year.  It has been such a fun and creative year and I am definitely looking forward to creating in the new year.

Today I have a shaker card that I created with the new Hello Bluebird Sledding Party Stamp and Coordinating Die Set.  I also used their older Downhill Vertical Scene which is just such a great background to highlight these fun friends.

When I make shaker cards, I prefer to use multiple layers of cardstock to create the wells for my little embellishments.  I used 6 layers of 100 lb cardstock for this card.  For this inside of the wells, I used a patterned paper for the sky and the same textured paper that I used for the the snowy hills.  The little shaker bits are from JoAnns when they were open.

Once I had my card sealed up with acetate, I trimmed it out with a dark green cardstock.  I used the textured cardstock for my mountain snow and a very light gray for the mountains.

I used Copic markers for my sledding friends in the following colo

  • Fox - YR30, E30, YR23, YR24, YR27
  • Raccoon - W00, W0, T0, T2, T5, T7
  • Bunny - E40, E41, E42, E43
  • Blue Scarf - B21, B34, B45
  • Lavender Scarf - BV01, BV31, BV23
  • Teal Scarf - BG72, BG18, BG75
  • Sled Base - E08, E19, E09
  • Sled Runners - C0, C1, C2
  • Trees - BG93, G99, BG99

I found that once I had my sleds attached to the card, it difintely needed a little more.  I colored in a number of stamped trees and then trimmed them to follow the hill lines to add a little more interest and fill in the blank areas.  I had thought about adding some snowflakes, but was a little worried it would cover up too much of the shaker areas.

The sentiments are included with the stamp sets.  I stamped them with Versafine Ink and trimmed them.

I think this card turned out super cute and would actually work for a winter themed card in addition to a Christmas card.

Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope you have an amazing New Year!

Sandy
