Sugar Egg Gnome Scene

Hello...Hello!  Today I have a couple of my favorites from Trinity Stamps.  I am still loving the new Sugar Egg Builder Die Set and Stamp Set.  Of course, it goes without saying, that I love all the Trinity Gnomes.  This one just happens to be Gnome Bunny.  I have used both the stamp and the die set for this card.

I created the base of this card using the Egg Shaped Card Die Set with a piece of dark pink shimmer card stock.  I cut an egg from patterned paper using the largest egg shape from the Sugar Egg Builder Die Set.  I also cut out another egg with the smaller egg shape from that same set.  Once I have those layered together, I used the smallest of the frosting dies, to cut out the middle of the card.  I have my process YouTube Video attached at the bottom of this post so you can see exactly how I got it lined up and cut.

I stamped the frosting ring using VersaMark Watermark Ink and clear embossing powder.  I used both of the frosting die pieces to cut it out.

To add a little more dimension to my frosting, I used my Copic BG0000 marker to add a little shading to the bottom of each frosting leaf. I glued my completed frosting ring to the front of my card.

For the inside of my card, I cut out an egg using the largest egg shape from the die.  I placed in on my Crafty Companion Reusable Grip Pad and started to ink blend my background.  Using a Shading Sidekick Blending Brush and a mixture of Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide Ink, I inked in my grassy layer.  Using the Puffy Cloud Layers Stencil, I inked in my clouds using my Blending Buddy with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink.

I colored my little friend and his eggs using Copic Markers in the following colors:

  • RV00, RV32, RV34, R83 - Pinks
  • Y32, Y17, YR14 - Oranges
  • Y00, Y11, Y13, Y15 - Yellows
  • BG10, BG11, BG13 - Blue-green
  • E31, E33, E34 - Shoes
  • BG70, BG90 - Beard
Using the front window of my card as  a guide, I place the gnome, his eggs and little chick friend where I wanted them and then glued them down.

For the outside sentiments, used the Egg-ceptional Sentiments Stamp Set and Coordinating Dies.  I heat embossed them of the same dark pink cardstock as the base of the card, using white embossing powder.

I glued the sentiment wording on the front of the card balancing it out with an egg from the Gnome Bunny Stamp Set.  I didn't put a sentiment on the inside of the card because I didn't want it peeking out through the front sugar egg window.  I figured the card could be signed on the grassy area under the gnome or a message could be written on the back of the card.

I am very happy with the way this card turned out and I hope that you have been inspired to create a scene using a stamp in your own sugar egg.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have an amazing day!

Sandy
