I think we are definitely in the dog days of summer, but I am always ready to "dive into fun". I created this card with some new goodies from Trinty Stamps and of course, my favorites, the adventurous gnomes.
This was a really easy shaker card to make because I used the new Porthole Circle Card Add On Die Set to create my well for the little shaker elements. I did this by using the die to cut out six portholes and then stacked them on top of each other. I glued the six stacked porthole pieces on top of a circle card that I cut out using the Circle Shaped Card Die Set.
I used one of the center cut outs to ink blend a background with Salty Ocean and Prize Ribbon Distress Oxide Ink.
To decorate the inside of my porthole, I used the dies that are included with the Porthole Circle Card Add On Die Set for the sand, seaweed and coral.
I thought that I would suspend my gnome up above the background in the shaker card so that the shaker elements would more freely, but it really didn't make a difference at all. So, the next time I make a card similar to this one, I will just glue him to the background.
My little gnome is from the Gnomies Under The Sea Stamp Set. I used the coordinating dies to cut him out.
I colored him with Copic markers in the following colors:
- C1, C3, C5 - beard
- E000, E00, E11 - skin
- RV21, RV04, RV06 - pink
- Y02, Y08 - yellow
For the inside sentiment, I used one of the sentiments from the Summer Gnome Fun Stamp Set. It was just perfect!
