Hello!!! I have loved the Lawn Fawn Mice for forever and have been hoping that one of these Fall Releases they would have Halloween mice. I don't have to wait any longer because this was the year!!! How cute are these??? The stamp and coordinating die set are called Halloween Mice.
It has been awhile since I have made a Reveal Wheel or used my Build A House Halloween Add On, so that is what I did for this card.
To start, I ink blended the background using Twisted Citron and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink. I used the Reveal Wheel Die along with the Reveal Wheel Build A House Add On. Make sure you keep the notch piece that is cut out - you will need it later. I also used the Hillside Stencils to add a hillside in using Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide Ink. I stenciled the hillside instead of cutting one from cardstock because I didn't want my card to get too bulky. I also spattered the background with some silver metallic watercolor.
I wanted to use the Spooky Forest Backdrop, but it was bigger than the Reveal Wheel piece. I adhered the cut backdrop all the way to the left side of the card and centered in vertically in the opening. I trimmed off the excess backdrop. That worked really well because I didn't want a bunch of branches at the mechanism notch on the right side.
Once I cut the large spinner piece from the Reveal Wheel Die Set, I temporarily taped the coordinating stencil to help me place the images that appear in the window. I used the Spooky Village stamp set for the images in the window. I did have to cut out the lines that seperated the window opening because you couldn't read the the little sentiments.
I used a Copic marker to color the whole wheel yellow so my ghosts stayed white.
Once I built my house using the both the Build A House and Build A House Halloween Add On, I glued it to the background lining it up with the window.
I built my mechanism and placed foam dots around the wheel making sure that it was still able to move freely. I placed my placed my background piece on top lining up the edges and notch.
I took the ink blended piece that I cut the Reveal Wheel background from and cut the notch off so that I could fill in the opening at the notch.
Once I had the mechanism built, I glued on a piece of cardstock cut to 4.25" x 5.5". Then I glued in the little notch piece so that the background continued to the edge.
Next I stamped out the Mice from the Halloween Mice stamp set and colored them with the following colors:
- YR21, YR23, YR24
- T2, T5, T7
- Y35, YR16, YR09
- R20, R22
- RV10, RV02
- Y02. Y13, Y17
- E42, E43, E44
- BG000
