Sweet November Stamps Love Letters Postcard

 Hello friends!  We are finally coming to the end of January - gosh this seems like such a long month.  Today I have a little Valentines Postcard that I created with a couple of the Love Letters digital stamps from Sweet November Stamps.  Digital stamps are my favorite ones to work with.  The ability to arrange and resize them opens so many doors for fun creative designs.

For this card, I have used, Olivia and Maddie for this card.   I knew that I wanted to make a postcard with these two little friends, but I wasn't sure how to go about doing the background without filing in the whole card.  I am still not very confident with my background coloring, so I came up with a fix, that played into the Valentine theme.

Once, I arranged, sized and printed my postcard, I used a piece of masking tape cut with a heart die to mask off my little friends.  I used the Copic Airbrush System to color in the postcard with my RV21 Copic Marker.

I used Copic markers in the following colors;

  • E31, YG61, G24 - Grassy Ground
  • B0000, B000, B41 - Sky
  • E000, E00, E11, E04, R11 - Skin
  • E50, Y15, Y26, YR23 - Blonde Hair
  • Y21, YR23, YR24, YR27 - Auburn-ish Hair
  • RV63, RV66, V06 - Violet Dress
  • RV10, RV13, RV14 - Bright Pink Sweater Jacket
  • RV00, RV21, RV23 - Pink Sweater
  • N1, N3, N5 - Mailbox
  • E31, E35, E37 - Mailbox Post

Once the card was colored, I thought that the background was little bland, so I used a stencil with small hearts to add to the background.  I, also used the Year Round Post Marks to add a little more interest to the background.

I have been asked by several people to watch me color, so I have posted a video of me coloring these little girls.  I wouldn't consider myself a colorist but I think that my coloring improve a little bit every time I do it.  If you would like to follow along with my process, I have linked my YouTube Video below.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you have a great day.

Sandy
