Hello friends! I am
up on the Scrapbook Pal Blog
today, with this beautiful Christmas card using the new dies from Altenew
called Timeless
Sled Layering Dies. I think that
this card has a little bit of a vintage vibe to it with the non-traditional
colors and the gold trim.
The first thing I did was emboss a piece of cardstock using
the Lush
Berry Branch 3D embossing folder.
This design is so beautiful.
While I kind of wanted to leave the embossing just white and
do a more mono-chromatic card, I decided that I would do that on another card. Using the Lush
Berry Branch Stencils, and my Pinkfresh Studios Mini Ink Pads, I started
to color my design.
I started with the Sage Ink Pad from the Green
Gables Collection to ink the leaves.
The berries were inked with Ballet Slipper from the Fairy
Dust Collection, followed up with a touch of Berrylicious from the Heartbeat
Collection. For the final stencil
layer, which has the stems, I used Eucalyptus, also from the Green
Gables Collection. Once I was
done with my inking, I cut my inked piece down to 4.0” x 5.25”
I wanted my sled to be mostly black and silver, so I cut the
runners from matte silver and silver glittered cardstock. The body and inside of my sled were cut from two
different black colored shiny cardstocks.
The poinsettias, stems,
leaves, gifts and pillow were cut from various colors of Bazill Bling
cardstock. I used some inks from the
embossing to add some definition to some of them. Once they were inked and assembled, I
arranged them at the bottom corner of the card.
Once I had the sled and flower spray adhered, I layered the
piece on top of a piece of gold glttered cardstock and layered it again on the
green shimmer cardstock cut to 4.25” x 5.5”.
I lined up all the layers together at the top left corner to give the
card a little more interest.
For the sentiment I used one of the Sleigh
Ride Greetings Stamp Set and the Coordinating
Die to cut it out.
I added a few pearl embellishments to the upper right and
lower left corner to balance the card.
The embellishments are Honey
Bee Happy Hearts Pearls.
This is such a pretty and elegant card that I can’t wait to
send it off this next Christmas season.
