Urban Chic - Haunted Shroom With And Inked Background

Hello friends!  I'm back today with another card made with Riley & Company's, Mushroom Lanes Urban Chic - Haunted Shroom.  Since I had already colored it once and knew what colors I liked, I decided to color it again and ink a background.

To start I stamped my image stamped on Xpress It Blending Card Paper. Before I stamped it however, I did remove the ink from the bat on the left side and the moon and cloud on the right.  I did this because I was going to ink in my own moon and I wanted to use different bats.  I stamped the image again on Gina K's Masking Magic and then cut the image out just inside the stamped lines.  I applied the mask over the original stamped image.

Using Twisted Citron Distress Oxide Ink and the Grassy Stencil by Lawn Fawn, I inked in the grassy background.  Once the ink was dry, I used the stencil to cover up the grassy area so that I could ink down to the grass and still protect the area.

Using the Nighttime Sky Stencil by Lawn Fawn, I inked in my moon using Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed Distress Oxide Ink.  Once that ink was dry, I used the moon mask that come with the stencil to mask off my moon.

For the sky, I ink blended Dried Marigold, Picked Raspberry and Wilted Violet.  I wasn't too worried about coloring the whole piece of paper because I knew that I would be cutting it down to 4.0" x 5.25".

Once I am done inking, I removed the masking over the moon, grass and house.  I do go back in with markers in matching colors and touch up any areas that didn't get hit by the ink. Now I am ready to start coloring my house.

I used Copic markers in the following colors:

       YR02, YR04, YR07 - orange on pumpkin              E50, E51,E53 - skull
        V05, V06, V09 - purples                                         YG04, YG07, G24, G28 - green Trim
        B02, B05,B B29 - blues                                          E23, E25, E27 - browns
        G21, G94, G99 - ground                                         YR04, YR07, YR09, R39 - house
        Y000, Y00, Y02, Y04, Y17 - yellow                          W0, W2, W4, W6, W9 - warm grays
        C2, C4, C6, C8 - cool grays                                    E42, E43, E44, E47 - door, wood trim

Once I am done coloring, I cut my image to 4.0" x 5.25" and applied to to a piece of black cardstock cut to 4.35" x5.5".  I added a few bats to the sky.

I love the way this house just pops against the inked background.  I might just hang on to the card for a little while before I give it away.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a fantastic day.

Sandy
