Did Someone Say Cake?

Who isn't alway up for cake?  These guys are definitely ready.  This cute card created with a couple of new stamp sets by Gerda Steiner Designs.  They just put a smile on my face.  My favorite guy is the one of the left - I think it must be his birthday because he's the one wearing the hat.  The stamps sets are; Puppies  & Cake and Peeking Puppies.

To start with this card, I cut a piece of white cardstock to 5.25" x 4.0".  I stamped my pups where I wanted them using my Misti.

I then stamped them on Post It Note tape to create my masks. Once I had them cut out, I placed them over my stamped images and started to place my fence.  This fence stamp only has four pickets, so I had to stamp it multiple times to get it to run across the card.

Once I had my fence stamped, I used Post It Note Tape again to mask off my fence.  I used Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink along with a Cloud Stencil to lay in my clouds.  For the area at the bottom of the fence, I inked in Twisted Citron Distress Oxide Ink and dusted the edges with a little Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide Ink.

With the background complete, I colored my fence and pups with Copic Markers.  I had stamped my cake and party hats on a seperate piece of paper, colored them and used my Scan and Cut to cut them out.

The Copic markers I used were:

  • C0, C1, C3, C4, C5 - Husky
  • E41, E42, E43, E44 - Bulldog
  • E97, E99, E37 - Golden
  • E31, E34, E35, Y26 - Fence
  • E13, E23, E27 - Cake
  • RV21, RV43, RV14 - Frosting
  • Y08, Y19 - Flame
  • B000, BG02 - Candles

I stamped the sentiment directly on my background - which is alway scary at this point because there is alway a chance that you might mess up the background.

To create a little dimension on my card, I popped the cake and hats up on some foam dots.  I glued this completed piece on a piece of cardstock cut to 5.5" x 4.25".

This was such a fun little card to make and I just can't wait to give it away.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you have been inspired to create your own cute puppy card.
