Summer Gnome Fun - Craft Roulette #267

Hello!!!  I had so much fun last week playing along with Craft Roulette, that I decided to do it once again.  If you aren't familiar, you might want to check them out at CraftRoulette.liv.   I have to admit that the "wheel" had some fairly easy parameters.  I think that my favorite one was the 4 Bar Card.  I had never heard of it before.  Once I cut my background down to size, I was amazed at the small area that I had to work with.  Yikes!!!

I have loved Gnomes before they became popular.  Trinity Stamps has my favorite ones to craft with, so I choose to use the Summer Gnome Fun.

The parameters for this card are:

  •     Project - 4 Bar
  •     Colors - Craft Store
  •     Element - Sew(s)(ing)
  •     Random - Stencil
For the background of my card, I used white cardstock with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink.  I used the Lawn Fawn Cloudy (Stencil) for the clouds.

I used the Stitched Wavy Backdrop (Sew(s)(ing) from Lawn Fawn with a blue cardstock to crate the waves.  I dusted the edges with a little Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide Ink to give them some dimension.  I also used the Simple Stitched Hillside Border (Sew(s)(ing) from brown cardstock to create the sandy beach.  I dusted those edges with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink.

I cut down the wavy backdrop and the hillside border to where it fit well with the size of the card, which was cut to 3.5" x 5" (4 Bar).  I adhered it to the bottom of the cloud background.

My Gnomes were colored with COPIC markers in the following colors:

  • B16, B18, B24
  • Y15, T38, YR07
  • RV10, RV04, RV17
  • V05
  • C0, C2, C4, C6

I used the orange and blue colors found in the Hobby Lobby logo for my
(Craft Store) colors.  Pretty literal - right?

The sentiment is one that is included in the stamp set.  I stamped it centered in the sky background with black ink.  I arranged my little Gnomes on the sand.

Don't you think my little friends are just living their best life on the beach?  I would love to join them

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you are having a great day!!

Sandy
