Hi guys! Today I have a card that reminds me of my childhood when we lived maybe a half mile from a Drive In Theater. Yes, I am that old. The one thing you could always count on was the jingle before and in between movies - Let's All Go To The Lobby. This fun stamp set by Crafty Stamp Co. brought all those memories back. I've been singing it all afternoon. The stamp set is called Going To The Lobby and is part of their September release.
I saw a card made by Lisa Bowden, @madetocreatewithlisa, that she called a "bridge card". I thought that this would be the perfect stamp set to use to make my own bridge card. Would this be considered CASing a card? If so, that is what I have done. Thank you Lisa!
To start this card, I cut a piece of black cardstock 4.25" x 8.0". I scored it at 1.5" , 2.5" , 5.5" and 6.75". Fold in at the scored lines, I cut patterned paper from the Lights, Camera, Action Paper Pack; 4 pieces at a scant 1.25" x 4.0" , 1 piece at 2.75" x 4.0". The "bridge" at the bottom was cut to 1.0" x 5.5" for the black card stock and the patterned paper cut to a scant .75" x 5.25". I didn't attach this piece until after I had embossed the sentiment on the centerpiece and glued the snacks to it.
I colored the treats with Copic Markers in the following colors:
- Y000, Y21 – Popcorn
- R17, R37, R39 – Red
- E21, E15, E17 – Pretzel & Hot Dog
- E50, YR20, E13 – Hot Dog Bun
Once I had glued my little friends to the bridge, I thought it would be really cute to add some popcorn popping up in the air. I glued several pieces of popcorn to thin strips of acetate and glued them to the back of the bridge.
The card needed an area for the sender to write a sentiment, so I cut a piece of plain cardstock to 2.75" x 4.0" and glued it to the back of the card.
This card just tickles me and I hope it inspires you to make one of your own.
Thanks for stopping by and "let's all meet in the lobby"!
Sandy
