We've Come For Cake Double Slider Card

Hello again!  I sure hope you aren't tired of seeing all these fun outer space cards because I am sure not tired of making them.  It looks like these aliens are hungry for some cake and milk.

This one is another interactive card using the Emergency Card Die Set #3 - Double Slider by Trinity Stamps and Sassy's LLC.  I also used the Trinity Stamps We've Come For Cake Stamp Set and coordinating dies.  I also added a few extra planets from the Out of this World Stamp Set and coordinating dies.

For the background of this card, I went with black as opposed to some of the more colorful ones I have done in the past.  I inked this background using, Lost Shadow, Hickory Smoke and Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink.  I spritzed it with a little water and then added a spattering of watered down white acrylic paint.  I cut the cardstock to 4.25 x 5.0".

This one turned out to be a little bit more tricky than my first card using this double slider mechanism.  I wanted my cows and cake to slide up to the flying saucer, so I needed to place the opening for the slider in the right place to work with the pop out pieces and have the placement of them make sense on the card.

Once again, I followed along with Sarah Lihz from Sassy LLC's YouTube Video.  I also have a link at the bottom of this post showing my process for this card.

My friends and other images are colored with Copic markers in the following colors:

  • YR23, YR24, Y26, YR27- Grain field
  • YG07, G14, G05  - Grassy Area
  • R14, R29, E55, E57, Y19 - Barn
  • E50, E51, E55, E57, R11, R21 - Cow
  • Y02, Y08, Y19 - Moon & Flying Saucer
  • B0000, B000M B02, B04,B05 - Flying Saucer
  • V04, V15, V17 - Flying Saucer
  • YG13, YG05 - Aliens
  • C2, C4, C6 - Flying Saucer
  • G20, G40, YG11, YG5 - Beam

I used the coordinating dies to cut out the images.  I wasn't crazy about the white border around them, so I used a Copic marker to color around them.  As you can see, I had forgotten about a few of them but have gone back and colored them in.  Ooops!

I used the sentiments that are part of the the stamp set, however, one of them was too long to fit on my tab.  I still used the coordinating die but I had to stamp it twice and cut it twice.

For the inside of this card, I cut a piece of white cardstock 4.0" x 5.25" and trimmed the bottom with a piece of left over inking I had done for the background.  It seemed a shame to through that out when it would nicely tie the card together.

I really enjoy the challenge of making interactive cards and I love the "wow" factor that they make when activated.  If you want to see a more detailed process on this card, hop on over to my YouTube channel to take a peak.  I have a link at the bottom of this posts.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!!!

Sandy
